BRIEF HISTORY

                The formerly Zamboanga del Sur Agricultural College now Western Mindanao State University Dumingag Campus is located at barangay Dapiwak municipality of Dumingag province of Zamboanga del Sur. The campus is seven kilometers from the municipality of Dumingag. The school was created under Omnibus Law in 1954 and was converted to Agricultural College by virtue of Batas Pambansa Blg. 385 in April 14, 1983.

                In consonance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) No. 7722, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994” and Republic Act (RA) No. 8292, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997” and pursuant to the Special Provision No. 2 of the CHED FY 2000 Budget under the General Appropriations Act of FY 2000 or RA 8760 on the Integration of CHED-Supervised Institutions (CSIs) to State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), last January 2002 the Zamboanga del Sur Agricultural College was finally integrated to Western Mindanao State University, Zamboanga City.
