Chemistry is an introduction to the quantitative and qualitative study of the nature of matter and its transformations. Major topics covered in Chemistry include, but are not limited to: atomic theory, the classification of matter, stoichiometry, and chemical reactions. Hands-on laboratory work is an integral part of this course. A prerequisite of C or better in Integrated Math 3, or current enrollment in IM 3 with a C or better in IM 2, is highly recommended. Solid math skills are crucial to success in this course.
