1995-96 Neoplan AN440a Transliner LACMTA (4500-4695) |
About the 1995 Neoplan CNG Transliner These buses are powered by a Cummins L10G engine and a Allison B400R Transmission. These were the first Neoplan Transliners to be delivered to MTA. These coaches run on (CNG) Compressed Natural Gas. This is when MTA decided to go along with the CNG fuels because Los Angeles is already smoggy enough. The 1995 Neoplan are much like the 1983 & 1984's except the 83's and 84's ran on diesel fuel. Other than the AC on the roof, and the fuels used these buses are exactly the same. These Neoplan have a Cummins L10 engine and an Allison B400R transmission. MTA operates a large number of Neoplans, the 4696-4793, 6300-6600, and the 1999 6700-6799. About the Neoplan Corporation The Neoplan USA Company basicly makes transit buses for city use. The Neoplan Corp in Germany is the maker of luxury and tour coaches. |
