| Patriot Bear SIR: If you recall, Ms. Mary was planning a trip to Treasure Island in Florida to meet with a group of her friends and enjoy playing in the Gulf of Mexico water and sand with them. Nanette DuBeary: Yes. Yes. We remember. What did YOU do there? Sam: Patience, Nanette. Let him tell it his way. Patriot Bear SIR: Ms. Mary asked if I wanted to go along because Ms. Charise was going to be there and I hadn't seen her for quite a long time. Nanette DuBeary: We remember you lived with her before you came here. Did you see her? Mr. Vegas: And Ms. Mary asked if Lex and TaraBear and me ... Nanette DuBeary: And I ... Mr. Vegas: She asked you , too? Nanette DuBeary: No. You said "me" and you should have said "I" ... Mr. Vegas: She asked I? Nanette DuBeary: No. She asked me if I ... Mr. Vegas: You just said she didn't ask you. Nanette DuBeary: <sigh> I'm just trying to teach you proper English. James Canterbury: Are you saying that Americans know proper ENGLISH? Patriot Bear SIR: HARRUMPH! Nanette DuBeary: I just want to know what they did in Florida. Marta Pearl Beary: They will get to that part faster if you stop interrupting them. Mr. Vegas: Ms. Mary asked Lex and TaraBear and I -- me -- if we wanted to go to Florida to see Ms Tara because she helped us get here and we hadn't seen her ever since she kissed us goodbye and she was planning on being in Florida. Nanette DuBeary: <sigh> The socks. What about the socks? Patriot Bear SIR: That was part of the secret mission. Mr. Randy went to Treasure Island early to secure the beachhead and stake out our territory. As others arrived, they assisted. In order for everyone to know who was part of the mission, Mr. Randy devised a secret code. When one of us met someone we thought was another one of us, we were to say, "What are you staring at?" and the other person -- if he or she really was one of us -- would answer, "I was just admiring your socks." So that's why Vegas and I had to have socks. How could someone say they were admiring our socks if we weren't wearing any? We have a picture of our socks. Mine are black with white heels and toes, and they have a cat's eyes, nose, and whiskers on each side, so my code name was "Cat Eyes SIR." Mr. Vegas: And my socks were green with the word "Boo" on the outside, so my code name was "Mr. Boo." Nanette DuBeary: But what did you DO? Patriot Bear SIR: We patrolled the beach at night to make sure all of our people were okay. We made sure nobody saw us because if our people could see us then the other people could, too, and we wouldn't be on a SECRET patrol to maintain security. Mr. Vegas: And during the day we sat up in Ms. Mary's hotel room and watched the waves and took little naps so we would be rested up for our night patrol. Patriot Bear SIR: We have a daytime picture. |

| Mr. Vegas: We rescued Francis on Friday night. His adopted parent(s) left him on a patio table. He was cold and wet and scared and lonely, so we took him to Ms. Mary. She said he could stay with me -- "me"? not "I"? -- and Patriot Bear SIR while she tried to find whoever abandoned him on the table. It wasn't until Sunday night that Ms. Mary got permission to adopt him. Ms. Cindi felt really bad about not bringing him to Ms. Mary in the first place, but she didn't know the first adoption wouldn't work. It's really hard to tell about some people, you know. They aren't all like Ms. Mary. So that's how we got Francis. | ||||||||||||||
