KatieBear:  <sings>  Happy birthday to you.  Happy birthday to you.  Happy birthday, dear Ms. Mary.  Happy birthday to you.

Marta Pearl Beary:  Thank you, KatieBear.  I'm glad that someone on the bookshelf knows the right  words.

Nanette DuBeary:  Lots of us know the words.  We just aren't sure we want to sing them.

Alice B. Patchberry:  Some can sing and some can just say them.  It's okay either way.  We'll be like a 3-part harmony divided into 50 parts.

Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis:  My second name is "Melody" because I can sing.  <sings>  Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.  Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.

Marta Pearl Beary
:  That's not the birthday song.

Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis
:  That's MY birthday song.

Momma:  She's a baby.  It's the only song she knows.

Sam:  <sigh>  Let's give it a try and see how it goes.

KatieBear:  Happy Birthday to you.
James Canterbury:  Happy Birthday to you.
Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis:  Twinkle, twinkle, little star.

KatieBear
:  Happy Birthday to you.
James Canterbury:  Squashed tomatoes in stew.
Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis:  How I wonder what you are.

KatieBear:  Happy Birthday, dear Ms. Mary.
James Canterbury:  Bread and butter in the gutter.
Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis:  Twinkle, twinkle, little star.

KatieBear
:  Happy Birthday to you.
James Canterbury:  Happy Birthday to you.
Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis:  How I wonder what you are.

Sam:  <sigh>  That was pretty good for a first time.

TaraBear:  I think it was beautiful.  Ms. Mary is going to love it.

Sam:  You think so?

Tara Bear:  I think so.

Billy:  I want to sing the squashed tomatoes birthday song.

Bitsy:  I want to sing the twinkle star birthday song.

Minnesota Moose:  I can't sing.  Can I just say the birthday birthday song?

Bitsy:  The birthday birthday song?

Minnesota Moose:  The one KatieBear sang.

Sam:  We can practice a few times before Ms. Mary gets home from work.  Everyone can pick the song they want to sing, and then we'll sing them all together.

Bitsy:  I pick the rock-a-bye birthday song.

Sam:  The rock-a-bye birthday song?

Bitsy:  <sings>  Rock-a-bye, baby, in the tree top.  When the wind blows, the cradle will rock.  Down will come baby, cradle and all.

Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis:  I don't think I like that song.

Bitsy:  It's not about you.

Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis:  I don't think I like that song.

Bitsy:  If you get to pick a twinkle birthday song, then I can pick a rock-a-bye birthday song.

Patriot Bear SIR:  HARRUMPH!!

Bitsy:  It's not about her.

Sam:  When I said everyone could pick the song they wanted to sing, I meant for us to pick one of the three songs we had already heard.

Bitsy:  I can't sing the rock-a-bye birthday song?

Sam:  You can sing it after we all finish singing the 3-part harmony.
