arruso/arrusa - xxx A strong Sicilian insult, particularly to a man. The passive partner in an act of sodomy.
bokkelul - xx An insult: jack ass, scum bag.
broedertje - Brother, an endearment.
dinsdag - Tuesday.
donderdag - Thursday.
droogkloot - x Someone without a sense of humor. Literally a "dry testicle".
eikel - xx Dickhead. Frequently used. Can be friendly or hostile.
Gadverdamme! - xx Dammit! This is the mild version of Godverdomme, used
when something annoying happens like stepping in doggy doo or dumping spaghetti
in one's lap.
Godverdomme! - xxx God damn it! The strongest curse in Dutch.
Goot & Gott - Both are plays on Derek's accent. Gott = God. God is God in Dutch
as well as English. Goot = "good," but in Dutch it means "gutter" or "drain," while
goed really means "good." BTW, Gott is God in German.
gratenkut - xxx Slut. Very offensive. Literally, "fish-bone pussy."
groetjes - An informal salutation.
Het spijt me. - I'm sorry.
hoer - xx Whore. Can be made stronger by adding descriptives.
Hulp mij. - Help me.
Insha'allah. - (Arabic) A very common invocation... God willing. May it please God.
klojo - xx Bastard, son-of-a-bitch. Corruption of klootzak, meaning "testicles."
Lief heb jou - Love you.
Liefje - Beloved, dear, sweetheart, an endearment.
lul - xx Penis, cock, prick, moron, idiot, bastard.
maandag - Monday.
moeder - Mother.
muisje - Little mouse... an affectionate nickname.
oetlul - xx Idiot, moron. Stronger, more colorful than lul.
ouwe rukker - x Son-of-a-bitch. Often used affectionately between men.
paardelul - xx Jerk, asshole. Literally means "horse's penis."
Praeceptor quondam, praeceptor futurus - Latin. Precept that was, precept that shall be. A take off on Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur: Hic jacet Arthurus Rex, quondam Rex que futurus. - "Here lies King Arthur, king that once was, king that shall be."
reet - x Ass. Very common.
rothoer - xx Whore. Literally, "rotten whore."
Rot toch op! - xx Fuck off! Shove off! Sod off! The imperative version of oprotten
schajte - Sweetheart, dear, babe, honey.
Scheisse! - x Shit! in German, but the Dutch often borrow it, as they do with the
English version.
Schijt! - x Shit! in Dutch. As common in Dutch as in English.
schoft - x Bastard.
stoephoer - xx Slut, whore. Literally, "step whore," or "street hooker."
Verdamme! - Darn it!
verkloten - xx To fuck up. Ik heb verkloot = I've fucked up.
vrijdag - Friday.
woensdag - Wednesday.
zaterdag - Saturday.
zondag - Sunday.
