So-Cal Flag
is a division of "South Orange County Sports". It is an all-passing, all-eligible, 7-man flag football league for adults 18 and over. This is what distinguishes us from other flag football leagues in California. There is immediate rushing by the defense by any number of players desired.  As long as it is legal contact, full contact is allowed during play. Multiple passes behind the line of scrimmage is also allowed (if you can get away with it).
It is truly a "Passing" game with everyone eligible to catch a pass and advance.

The reason for the recent name change to So-Cal Flag as a division in July of 2003 is that many of our teams come from distant locations such as Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Diego, Yorba Linda, Fullerton, Anaheim, and at one time San Dimas.(N/E of Los Angeles) We truly feel we offer a flag football league to adults of Southern California and not just simply South Orange County.

The league basically follows high school football rules with a couple of NFL rules as well as a few standard flag football rules. Our officials are high school and/or college certified with each possessing many years of experience doing all levels of football officiating.

The field is modified to a scale of 40 yards wide and 80 yards long.  The field is lined with paint with orange yardline markers every 20 yards marking the lines to gain for a first down.

The league is divided up into 3 divisions reflecting talent levels.
They are:

Elite:                  Superior Talent, very exp'd. Champions of previous divisions
Intermediate:     Excellent Talent, experienced, moving up from lower division.
Lower:                Good Talent, groups from work, church, clubs, etc.

Games are played on Sundays.

There is a
Spring season that starts in February and a Fall season that starts in September.

There are 10 games with additional playoffs and Finals.

Mailers are usually sent out 30-40 days prior to a beginning season.

There is a league "Team Fee", a refundable forfeit fee and a weekly officials fee.
