The year ends with a whimper, as I add lyrics for a new song called Cub Cubota and make the past Toys For Tots index pages available at the Great Uncle Helmer index.
The year ends with a bang, as the POWERFUL STATEMENT makes its public debut.
Rocktober, 2007
A new poem (featuring adult language (For that matter, memphisevans.com is not designed or intended for listeners under 18 years of age or social conservatives.)) attempting to integrate the two categories into which I have always put my memories of the 1994 St. Olaf Choir tour occurred to me very rapidly the other day and I wrote it down in about as much time as it took me to write it down. I felt like more of a whole person after I wrote it, like Spock at peace with his dual vulcan and human heritage. It's here now.

The Prose page and the Bands page have both been updated. Rather than checking them out, why don't you just look at the reason for the updates? It's a brand new review of the excellent Trio Tipo CD Where We've Been. I really dig it.

The page regarding Memphis Evans' charitable giving has been updated for the first time in two years. See whether any of these appeal to you and throw a couple bucks at the world's problems according to Me.
Fully captioned photos from the July 28, 2007 Shotgun Johnson & the Mississippi Seven show are available. Captions and navigation assistance are guaranteed to be positioned correctly if you are using the exact same browser, OS, text size, and font as I was when I created it all.
I decided to participate in this garageband.com deal and see if I like it. The upside for you? You can now listen to and download my song "Ron Cey" absolutely free, at least if you don't count the extraordinary amount of time and money you've likely poured into your whole computer based life.

I made two lists of The Ten Greatest Living Songwriters. See whether you agree with any of my choices here.
After a grueling game in the company of disgusting, highly intoxicated people (Do I sound like a cranky old man? Perhaps.) I wrote this e-mail to the Minnesota Twins. Check back often to see whether and how they respond.

The reason I have all that Cody Weathers/UFO Catcher/Flip Nasty I've been enjoying is that we traded some CDs see? So here are some concise notes to the songs I put on those CDs.
I have created another unofficial fan tribute site. This one's for Flip Nasty/UFO Catcher/Cody Weathers, whose extensive catalog I have been enjoying a great deal recently. I don't do that very often or for just anybody, so you should probably check it out.

An expanded website? It must be a new band that I am excited about. Indeed, the part of the site devoted to the new band that I suppose will now be known as Shotgun Johnson & the Mississippi Seven has been vastly expanded.
The Qualities of a Great Song document has been finalized and all previously asserted qualities have been found. Read the finished document then write your own great song.
A small, one page site has been created to publicize the new band in which I am playing drums. You should go to the show of course, but for now you can just go to the page.
A long overdue show calendar update has been performed and a couple new blog entries have been added.
Did you like it when I criticized They Might Be Giants even though they are probably my favorite band ever? Well, you'll love it when I criticize another one of my favorite artists. I don't know why I felt I needed to write these but I did. Check it out.

Further thoughts about recording are available under the title Polished Recordings and Feelings.
A letter from a friend regarding the "qualities of a great song" GUH page asked some questions about the role of sex appeal in music. See my answer here.
I did some recording in the last couple weeks, so you will find the recording progress page updated and expanded to include a new page for 2007.
As I recently explained to a Congressional Investigation Committee, yes, I have access to statistics regarding which pages are visited most often but I have NO access to the identities of the visitors. I promise. Anyway, If you are the person or persons who frequently persuses archived New Stuff, you are in luck. There are now three separate pages of it. You'll want to start here at 2006 and go back, back, back...
Happy new year. I added this link to information relevant to the song Ron Cey. Listen while you read.
Do you want even older "New Stuff?" Keep going back!
