Week 25-She is now weighing probably close to 1.5 pounds and taking up more space everyday! The baby has developed enough now that if she was delivered right now she would have about a 85-90 percent survival rate. Merry Christmas little baby. She received lots of presents today from everyone! Thank you! I am still walking but it is getting harder the bigger I get. I go to the doctor next week on the 3rd. She is so active. I definately know when she is awake and sleeping now!

Week 26-The baby is weighing in closer to 2 pounds now with a crown to rump length of about 9-10 inches. She is beginning to make breathing movements but has no air in her lungs yet. She can respond to touch. The eyebrows and eyelids are visible. Her eyes are beginning to open. The baby is moving so much now that it is starting to interfere with sleeping. I seem to be sleeping in 1 hour intervals, waking up and trying to fall back asleep again. I went to the Dr. this week. Everything is right on track. Heartbeat is 160 beats per minute. I get another ultrasound at my next appointment on 01/30/02! Gained 6 pounds since my last appointment 5 weeks ago! I have now gained a total of 16 pounds! Yikes! I have my gestational diabetes test next Monday.
Week 27-The baby weighs just over two pounds and measures approximately 15 inches from head to toe. She is sensitive to light now. She will practice the sucking reflex now using her thumb or fist. Hello third trimester! I had my gestational diabetes test this week and it made me sick. Yuck! I hope I pass because I do not know if I could do that again. When I lay on my back I can feel a body part from the outside of my stomach. I gently tickle it and she will move into a new position. I am having difficulties sleeping now. No fun at all! She keeps me up all night long! This weekend is being devoted to nursery detail. Hopefully we will get alot accomplished.
