| Students will be asked to create a Blog site, using Blogger, or any other application, approved by the teacher. Permission slip will be sent home before hand, with an outline of the lesson and all information regarding the assignment. Students will be asked to post, a picture, followed with a story. It can be fictional, non-fictional. teachers choice. Teachers may choose topic, or students may have the choice on what they want to photograph and write about. These are all examples. Our Lesson Plan: Title of Lesson: Creative Writing Online Journal Grade Level : Varies Subject: English/Technology Objective: The students will be familar with the use of several online applications, posting and editing their weblogs ( blogs). This activity will also enhance writing/typing skills of students. Force them to use thier imagination. The students will learn how to using digital cameras, Photo editing softwares, and uploading photographs to their blog site. Students can also use Picasa as their photo album, and upload pictures to their Blogger sites. Materials and Technology required: Frequent access to a computer, Internet, and digital camera. Instructions: Step 1. Create a Blogger Account. Step 2. Student will take pictures of topics to write about. Step 3. Upload their pictures to the blogger account. Step 4. Create stories around the image they uploaded. What will the students gain and learn from this activity? Students will become authors on the net. This will empower and boost their self esteem to have others reading and commenting on their work. Through callaboration and feed back, students will be able to learn and improve their own writing abilites. The goal on this lesson will also enhance students willingness to write and produce more creativity in their work. |
