Creating a Virtual Tour of your Community:
                                                Lesson Plan 

Course:   Technology/ Social Studies                                                Grade: 5-7

Objective: Students will learn more about their community through the use of technology.

Goal: Students will use the example above to write and create their own wikispace. Student will become authors by writing about their community and how the percieve it. We want students to take pride of their community and become aware of the resources available to the people.

Activity: Students will make their own wikipages/Blog sites/Webpages etc... by uploading their pictures and information, using different tools in the Web 2.0.

Material and technology: Digital camera, Microsoft Movie maker, itunes and www.photobucket.com , www.youtube.com , etc.

Other activities in the future:
1. The students will compare their community with others and find similarities and differences.
2. Students can also go out and do the ground work research on their community,  create virtual tours of their community, through slide shows, podcasting, and uploading to their wikipages or classroom website, to teach others on what they have learned.
