June 2000 (Day 2)
It was Wednesday - day of fasting. After having some bread and water, we wrote down our petitions to Our Lady (to be handed to Vicka) and set out for Vicka's house. Had to wait for quite a while as there was a mix up in the time schedule of different language groups. Can't help but notice the beautiful smile and the serenity in Vicka's expressions, and her patience in conveying Mary's main messages to pilgrims - to work on personal conversion, to pray with the heart, to attend and love the Holy Mass daily, to fast on Wednesdays and Fridays, to go for confession at least once a month, and to read the Bible everyday. We
then attended the English mass at 10am. In the sermon, the priest (whom we
guess, from his accent, is from Singapore - our birthplace) presented a most
powerful and moving testimony of his relationship with God and Mary. After
mass, we went to the presbytery to offer masses for our beloved ones. Upon
coming out from the presbytery, we met Sister Emmanuel at the car park and had a
quick chat with her. Our group met around noon and set out for Father Jozo's parish at Siroki Brijeg. Father Jozo, who was the parish priest of St James Church at Medjugorje during the first days of the apparitions, had suffered much and is regarded today as a living saint. Full of the Holy Spirit, Father Jozo spoke with us in a most enlightening and inspirational way (I will transcribe his talk and put it up on this website soon). In the healing service at the end of the talk, he asked all the priests present to go up to the altar where he blessed them. He then sent them out to bless all of us who were there. Many were slain in the spirit. PhotosClick on photo to see a larger image
