Criminal Justice

I decided to major in Criminal Justice because I have always held an interest in how society works, crime, the justice system and our government.  In the past year I have learned alot about how the justice system works in both civil and criminal matters.  Whatever your major is, I highly suggest taking a Criminal Justice course - you'll learn alot and your opinions about the justice system may change!

Cop Before my first Criminal Justice course my opinion of police officers was, well, a bad one.  My teacher, Jennifer Taylor, was a police officer.  Throughout the course I was reminded that these people are humans too.  Their jobs are not easy, in fact they're extremely challenging.  Police officers are putting their lives in danger so they can protect us.  Yes, they hand out traffic tickets and some people are treated unjustly, but they are human and they do make mistakes.  Their job is to enforce the law, and the law exists to protect society.
