Assisted Living Facility Visit: The first Thursday and third Monday of each month, moms and their children meet at an assisted living facility in Waldorf to visit the residents. During the visit, we chat with the residents, sing songs, and read stories. This is a wonderful event that brightens the day for all the residents at the facility.
Book Club: The club reads one book per month and then meets to discuss the novel. The meeting is a time to share thoughts on the common book and discuss other books that have been read throughout the month. This club gives moms a chance to share their love of reading with other moms.
Chick-Fil-A Day: The chapter meets once a month at a local Chick Fil A for lunch. This is also a time for the kids to play.
Cooking Club: This group meets once a month. The group chooses a monthly theme and members bring their dish and recipe to share. The moms get to sample new dishes and the kids get a day to play together.
Coupon Group: The members trade and share coupons.
Family Day/Night Out: Family Day/Night Out is a time on the weekend for everyone, dads included, to spend some quality time together. There is a family day/night out at least once a month. Trips are planned to nearby parks, museums, festivals, or just anywhere we can all have fun and enjoy each others company.
Field Trips: The chapter plans local trips. In the past we have gone to a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, ExploraWorld, and Chuck E. Cheese to name a few.
Mini-Playgroups: Meets at various members houses where kids in the same group range can play with new toys and moms can get to know each other better. These groups usually meet weekly at a member's home.
Mom's NIght Out:: Come join other MOMS Club members for an evening of socialization.
Scrapbooking Club: Members meet monthly to scrapbook together.
Stamping/Cardmaking Club: Meets once a month to make cards.
Secret Sister: Members join to get a secret sister to send/receive small gifts for a period of 3 months. They end the session with a luncheon to reveal their secret sister. This program runs 3 or 4 times a year.
Walking Club: At least twice a month, the Walking Club meets at a location in Waldorf to walk around together. Weather permitting, walks will also take place outside in La Plata. This is a wonderful time to get some exercise with the company of other moms.
