Ellen, Scott, Don and Vonda

Vog's version

I had the BEST time.

The view was magnificent and, even though I wanted one of the cute, male tandem jumpers, I think I had the best one to go with. Her name was Amber.  She asked to meet the watchers before the jump and became very interested in the group and our reasons for being there.

I volunteered to be the first to jump, then, landed several minutes after Scott and Ellen (maybe because, we were the only two women and between the two of us, we didn't have much weight).

Amber seemed to really want to give me a memorable experience.
We veered way out and did stunts that the others didn't do.  She let me control the twirls and turns (until I decided to stop because it was getting a wee bit woozy).
But, stomach stayed in place and I loved EVERY MINUTE of it.

Even the 'chicken' watchers had a good time if the chatter on the video is any indication.

Several took snapshots that will be posted on the site, and there are four videos of the event. On the tape I recorded there is some of the pre-chatter between the group, a quick shot of the instruction session.  Donna took the camera over to get us falling from the sky.

Scott was the first to land. Karen got a big chuckle when he landed on his butt.  Ellen was only a few seconds behind him, while I was still in the sky floating around.

Amber and I crashed in on our sides and it seemed to give the watchers a moment of fright.  Then, a relieved Tom said, "They're up! No one's rushing to their aid. It must be okay."  It was.  Amber had instructed me to stay put, so that we didn't get the lines tangled.  They were all around us and would have gotten worse if I had jumped to my feet.

I can't even describe how much fun it was.

I want to give thanks to everyone who has encouraged and followed the adventure, the five watchers (chickens) and especially to Ellen, who put out the challenge and Scott, who came the longest distance to become a Flying Grizzly.

I'll NEVER forget.
