We are located near the intersection of Tryon and Beam roads, north of Arrowood and south of Tyvola Road. The subdivision was begun in 1984. Several years later, another part of the division was added.
Your neighbors established this association to help with common interests and concerns, such as upkeep of entrances, installing street lights, coordination with the Department of Transportation, and more. The association collects annual dues of $50.00 on or about June 15th. The dues are used for upkeep of entrances, water, power, printing newsletters, fliers, and items of communication, and printing meeting materials.
We hold quarterly meetings at 6:45 pm, usually on the fourth Tuesday of January, April, July, and October (the schedule is published in the newsletter). The meetings are held at the Steele Creek AME Zion Church on Shopton Road just off Highway 49 S.
All residents of the association (owners and renters) are encouraged to attend. We post reminder signs at the entrances of Yorkdale and Gretna Green during the week of the meeting.
Our Mission
The residents of McDowell Meadows are committed to building a strong community. The McDowell Meadows Homeowners Association was created to maintain and improve the quality of life of the residents of the our neighborhood. We attempt to provide a unified voice that represents the interests of McDowell Meadows in our community and before the City of Charlotte. Our hope is to bring together people of diverse backgrounds and interests in a spirit of fellowship and to nurture the diversity.
