Biographies:
Dr. Jane Hathaway, D.V.M.:
Dr. Hathaway received her D.V.M. from Stanford University in 1982. After interning with noted bird specialist Dr. Richard Lefebre in Chicago, she spent two years in South America and Australia working with several wildlife foundations. Her studies in avian respiratory systems are well documented.
Dr. Hathaway moved to the Phoenix area in 1989, and has been established in Chandler since 1992. Besides exotic birds, she also specializes in equine health. Dr. Jane has two horses, three dogs, and two birds of her own at home.

Dr. Michael Nesmith, D.V.M. :
Dr. Nesmith received his D.V.M. from Ohio State University in 1980. His internship included work with noted canine and feline specialists. He has completed significant research on cat distemper and urinary tract disorders.
Dr. Nesmith moved to Tempe in 1988 and has been established in Chandler since 1990. Dr. Mike and his family support two dogs and three cats, and an occasional hamster.

Dr. Hathaway and Dr. Nesmith:
Dr. Hathaway and Dr. Nesmith are both currently consulting veterinarians with the Phoenix Zoo, Dr. Hathaway in the Avian Division, and Dr. Nesmith in the Wildlife Division. Both are Board Certified and members of the Arizona Veterinary Society, the American Association of Veterinary Medicine, and are also standing board members of the Arizona Humane Association. Dr. Nesmith is also a consultant with the Glendale Wildlife Zoo.
