Towards the end
of 1992, at the instigation of Isobel Kerley (also IYTA
trained), it was decided to start a Teachers Training Course
under the auspices of FinY. A number of teachers now help run
the year long course. All aspects of yoga philosophy are
covered in the course, as well as anatomy, practical teaching
skills, and yoga therapy.
Students complete the course
with the confidence and knowledge to begin teaching their own
classes.
From a small start the course
has grown, and now takes in approximately 20 trainees each
year. Anyone interested in applying for the Teachers Training
Course should contact Rakinanandaa (Michele Murphy) on 9344
5065 or [email protected].
A
correspondence course for prospective teachers in rural and
remote areas of Western Australia is planned for the year
2003. For more information contact Cherry Ray on 9362 1674 or [email protected].
