Championship Manager

Easily one of the most addictive and time-consuming games of all time, along with the Civilisation series, Championship Manager entered my consciousness fairly late on. I chanced upon a copy of CM 99/00 on it's release, and bought it as a Christmas present for my brother. I had a quick go myself, partly to test it, and partly to see what all the fuss was about. After half an hour I was hooked, and returned to the shop the next day to buy myself a copy. The rest is history.

I�ve been playing CM since 99/00 came out just over three years ago, and while I�m by no means the best manager out there, I�ve had a modest amount of success with the game. I took Yeovil Town to the Premiership in ten seasons on CM 99/00, and turned them into the new Man United after a further three. Currently I�m managing Middlesbrough on CM 01/02, and have turned them into a pretty formidable Premiership force. In the following pages, I�m going to share the questionable wealth of my CM experiences, hopefully without giving too many of my closely guarded managerial secrets away.
