Kells A little piece of Ireland has made its home in Seattle, and its name is Kells. An Irish pub nestled in a little nook near Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, Kells has a definite "pub" atmosphere and live music 7 days a week. The staff was friendly and the band was lively and fun. It's the perfect place to go with your friends, sit and relax and drink a pint or two of Guiness. At least, it would have been, had I but remembered my i.d. Yes, I've only spent 6 months in Holland. You'd think that I wouldn't forget something so basic, but I never get carded in Holland (I don't think many people do), and I just didn't think about it. I tried to do the "gallant" thing and sit on the restaurant side, where I didn't need i.d., but my friends wouldn't hear of it. Peter ended up driving me all the way back to the house and then back to Seattle and Kells again. Seattle is very pretty at night, and personally I think the Space Needle looks cooler all lit up than it does during the day, but I felt bad for dragging someone home and back because I was silly and forgetful. So! for all of you kiddies out there who might be visiting the US and feel like going out for a drink, don't forget your i.d.! :-) |
