My great-great grandfather, William Gordon Nicol, as a young man.  The family immigrated from Scotland to Canada about 1880.  William is the second from left in the back.

My great-grandfather, Harry Dennis Nicol, married Pearl Byers on
July 3, 1911.  They immigrated from Canada to  Pennsylvania in 1915.  Pearl gave birth to William Edward Nicol the following year.
