A hostelite staying at Raffles Hall for two years, I was actively involved in many hall activities. What I brought back from all these activities however, is not really pleasant memories (unless staying up till 3 a.m trying to balance accounts counts), but rather the friends I've made and the experience I have gleaned.

The Raffles Experience - I think no Rafflesian who ever went through Orientation will ever forget it. It was unpleasant, to say the least. And I am still not convinced that it is the only way to pass on the Raffles Spirit and preserve the hall culture against the big bad wolf aka OSA (still, from the brickhats I received when my views were stated in Rheview, it seems that many seniors are still so convinced). But tradition is tradition, so we first years just have to go along with it.... sigh. Anyway, here we are, freshmen of RH 4, showing our undying loyalty to our block :-) Long live the Phoenix! Long live RH 4!!! |
| RH 4 Gals - Left to Right: Mann Yin, Bao Yan, Grace, Yen Sen, Xeauwei, Li Yoon and me. All of us stayed in RH 4 together in our first year, and we all moved to RH 5 in our second year together, all except Xeauwei, who decided to move home. Well, next year, there won't be many of us left anyway, since most of decided that it's not worth trying to stay back when the odds are so stacked against us. Still, keep in touch! | ![]() |

Calypso Ticketing Team - My second favourite activity in Raffles Hall, the Concert Ticketing Team. It was fun working together, trying to reach targets, doing door to door sales and going out into town to raise money. And of course, the memory of all our pagers going off while we were in the MRT going for our post-performance treat by the Ticketing Head, thanks to a certain ticketeer who overslept and was left behind in the hall! |
