| "No, we can still go out we were just going over some things." Shawnie said to Josh as she grabbed his arm. Skeet smiled and said "I think I have everything under control here, but if there is anything that I need I will call you on your phone okay." "Thanks see you later." Shawnie said as she walked out of the den. Josh opened the truck door for her and helped her in his truck. When he got in he looked over at her and said "You look beautiful tonight." "Thank you. You look good also. So where are we going tonight." she asked. "It's a surprise and I think you are going to like it." he said with a smile. Shawnie smiled back and relaxed in her seat. They were driving when her favorite song came on the radio, she wanted to turn up the radio but didn't want to touch the radio. He was watching her trying to listen to the radio so he reached over and turned up the song. Shawnie looked at him and said "I love this song." "I know that's why I turned it up." he said to her. Shawnie didn't know what to think about that comment. She just sat there looking out the window singing to herself. She didn't know what to say to him. She wasn't paying attention to where they were heading until they pulled into the lake . Shawnie looked around and said "This is the big surprise." "No, this is just the first of the surprise." he said as he was getting out of the truck. He walked around to her side and opened the door and helped her down. He shut the door and said "Now I want you to just trust me." "What do you mean?" she asked being a little scared. "With this." he said holding up a blind fold. "What are you going to do once you get it on me?" she asked. "Oh you will have to trust me." he said with a smile. "Okay I will trust you." she finally said after a few seconds to decide. He put the blind fold on her and grabbed her hand and started leading her down a path. He moved and put his arm around her waist and gripped her hip. He watched as her breathing changed by this move. He had to smile at this because he knew that he was turning her on. He wanted to see if he could do anything else and get away with it. So he reached down and touched her butt. She stopped dead in her tracks and tore the blind fold off and said "What in the hell are you doing Josh?" He started laughing and said "I'm really sorry, but I just couldn't resist. I promise it won't happen again." She looked at him trying to figure out what was going on here, but she just looked at the ground and said "Where the hell are we at?" "We are at the park where I first met you." "What are you talking about? Where we first met." she asked. "This is where I first met you three years ago. We had just moved here and there was a fourth of July festival here and I had came here with my cousin because I didn't know anyone else." he said to her Shawnie thought and said "I wasn't at the festival. I was at home with a broken leg." "No, you were here the first day of it. I was standing over by the shelter house and you were playing volleyball and that's when I fell in love with you." he said grabbing her hands. Shawnie still couldn't remember, but she covered by saying "Okay but why did you wait this long to tell me this." "You still don't remember. Oh man I just made a complete fool of myself. I should have taken you to a restaurant, but I thought this would be more romantic." he said looking away from her. "Hey, Josh don't say that I do think this is romantic, but I'm sorry but that year was a really hard year for me because that was the year my parents got killed. I don't remember much of anything that year. You did not make a fool of yourself tonight." she said lifting his head with her hand to face her face. She smiled at him and gently kissed his cheek. "So how about that surprise now." she said with a smile. He grabbed ahold of her hand and led her to the shelter house where a picinic table was set up with candles and two plates cover with silver covers. Shawnie looked at all of this and was taken by surprise and a single tear slid down her cheek. He noticed the tear and said "Hey don't cry I was just reliving a dream that I had, but you don't remember." "Josh, I am so sorry, but I do want you to know that this is the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me. I am in therapy to help me though that year. I want to know one thing though." she said to him. "What is that?" he asked "I want to know why it took you so long to ask me out. If you met me three years ago then why did you wait until now." "Well when I first met you I wanted to ask you out but you were going out with someone. My cousin told me that you had been going out with this guy ever since you were five years old." he said while he sat down at a different picnic table. Shawnie looked at him and said "I never went out with anyone since I was five. I never actually had a boyfriend to tell you the truth. I went out on dates but I never had a steady boyfriend. Who is your cousin?" "Jessica Mead. She told me that you were taken by Storm Roberts." he said to her. "Jessica, oh my gosh. She hates me. I never knew why but I guess I found out. Storm is my brothers best friend and we are always together, but we never went out. He is like family to me. Why did you ask me out now then?" "Well to tell you the truth I seen you at the market and I ran into you on propose so I could talk to you, I just asked you out on the date to see if you would go. It was pure luck that you said yes." Shawnie started laughing. She looked over at him and said "Well I guess that will teach you to listen to Jessica again. You should've known anyway because we hung out all the time." She leaned over and kissed his cheek. She grabbed his hand and took in between both of hers and said "I'm glad that you did ask me out because I was in love with you to, but I didn't have enough courage to go up to you and ask myself." He looked at her and smiled. They looked at each other with such desire that they couldn't hold themselves back. It was like they were pushed together by a force. They moved in slow motion and kissed each other. After a long passionate kiss Shawnie pulled away and said "Don't you think we should eat." Josh looked at her and said "We can eat later. Let's do this some more." Shawnie started laughing and said "No we can do this later. You went to so much trouble to make this night romantic let's not let the food get cold." "You worry to much. The food can wait. I want to kiss you again." he said to her. Shawnie looked at Josh. She got off the pinic table and walked over to the shore of the lake. Josh watched her walk down there. He stayed up at the shelter house and was kicking himself for blowing the date. She was thinking to herself about what had just happened. She was kissing Josh the guy she had wanted to go out with for so long and it couldn't have happened at the worst time. He just had to wait until she was going to have to move because her house was getting sold out from under her. She was going to have to make new friends and leave everyone she knows here behind. She started walking up to the shelter house for her phone to call home. She reached for her purse and started dialing when she looked around and didn't see Josh anywhere around. "Josh, Are you still here?" she yelled. There was no answer. She started to get worried, and mad. She dialed her phone number. Skeet answered the phone... |
