He touched the wall and said "I beat you. I can't believe I beat you at swimming."
"You didn't beat me I let you win. I couldn't beat you in your own pool. It just wouldn't be fair." she said smiling.
He started laughing. She swam over to the side by him she only inches away from him. She looked into his eyes and stared at him. He looked at her and said "What? What are you staring at?"
"Nothing, I just can't believe I'm here with you finally." she said shyly
He started laughing and said "So are you saying that you forgive me."
"I didn't say that. You had nothing to do with it. It was River who did." she said.
"So why are you looking at me like that then?" he asked.
She leaned up and kissed him on the lips. He kissed her back. She pulled away and said "I shouldn't have done that, but I just couldn't resist myself."
"Hey no problem here." Josh said smiling.
"Can I ask you a question?" she asked.
"Sure anything." he said.
"Why did you go out with Rain if you wanted me. You knew that I didn't have a boyfriend. That hurt me so bad because I have wait so long for you to go for me." she asked.
"I was scared that you would say no. I knew that Rain wouldn't last long so I asked her."
She looked at him and said "Did you know so many people told me that you were going to ask me out and when you didn't I was hurt so bad that it took me awhile to get over that. I was told that you and Rain had already broke up. I got hope again. Then River ran into me and said he was you. I hate my life so much."
"Hey don't say that you have a great life. You have me in your life now, anyway I hope I'm in your life." he said
"I don't know what is going on. It's going to take a while for me............" she said.
He leaned over and kissed her to shut her up. He knew that she would pull away, so he held her tight against him. He wanted to do this for so long. She didn't try to pull away, she let him hold her. She was thankful to have the real Josh in her arms finally. When they pulled apart they looked into each other eyes. She broke the stare by saying "I don't want to have sex right now."
"I never said that we were going to have sex. What makes you think I wanted to have sex?" he said.
"Because I saw the look in your eyes. I know that look." she said
"Shawnie I'm not my brother. I don't think about sex all the time like him." he said
Shawnie swam over to the ladder and got out.
Josh followed her out. She started to dry her legs off when he grabbed the towel from her and said "Let me help you. I always wanted to do this."
"I want to know one thing." she asked
"What's that?" he said
"Where did you first see me?" she asked
"It was the first day I moved to town, you were at the supermarket. You had just broke your leg, you were picking up your medicine for the pain. Why do you ask?" he told her.
"Oh nothing, that's probably why I didn't remember being at the festival playing volleyball. River said that was the first time he saw me and I couldn't go to the festival, because I broke my leg." she said.
"Why would he say that?" he asked
"I don't know. I don't want to talk about him anymore I was just wondering." she said.
Josh finished drying her off and wrapped the towel around her. He picked her up and carried her to the bathroom. He sat her down on the counter and said "Let me draw you a bath."
"What if I don't want to take a bath?" she said.
"You always take a shower after you swim." he told her
She started laughing and asked "How come you know so much about me and I don't know that much about you?"
"Everyone knows everything about you, you're the most popular girl in school." he told her.
"I know, but how do you know that much?" she said
"Any thing you want to know about me just ask me
after you take your bath. I'm going to be in the bedroom."
Josh kissed her cheek and turned left. She had just got in the bath tub and got her hair washed when Josh knock on the door. He came in with him hand over his eyes and said "I have to go the bathroom, do you mind?"
She started laughing and said "No not at all."
He came in and turned so she couldn't see him. When he was done. She was standing up in the bath tub. He turned around and looked at her and his mouth flew open.
"Could you hand me a towel please?" she asked him.
He handed her a towel and turned and left. She followed him out to the bedroom. She went over to her bag to get clean clothes to put on. He sat on the bed and watched every move she made. When she went back into the bathroom to get dressed he walked over to the door and yelled in at her "Shawnie, can I ask you a question?"
Shawnie finished getting dressed and opened the door and said "What?"
"What is going on that you have to stay here?" he asked her
"Well I got a letter in the mail that said that we had to sell our house and move to Iowa with my grandparents because we are both under eighteen, so we not legal to have a house although it was given to us in the will. Why do you ask?"
"Oh nothing I was just wondering that all. I'm glad you are here though." he said with a smile.
She looked at him, smiled and said "I bet you are. Okay It's my turn to ask you question?"
"Shoot for it." he said to her.
She walked over to the bed and lays down on her side and said "How and why do you know so much about me and I don't that much about you?"
Josh started laughing and said "Shawnie you are the most popular person in the school, you know everyone knows when you do something. Hell they knew when you lost your virginity. I guess I just took notes well a lot of notes."
He leaned over and got his journal and tossed it in front of her. She looked at it and said "You want me to read this."
He shaked his head yes and said "I want you to know what I wrote, so you don't think I stalked you, although it seems like that."
"Everyone knows when I lost my virginity? How I wasn't even in the state when it happened?" she lied to him
"It's in the book. Just read it and we will talk more." he said softly.
Shawnie started laughing. She looked at him still laughing and said "I will later, I want to know more about you. We will play a little game. I ask a question and you answer and then you ask a question."
"I already know everything about you." he said smiling.
"Oh I bet you don't know everything." she said with a sly look on her face.
They started asking questions to each other, this went on for almost three hours before Josh intruped them by saying "I'm hungry, what do you want to eat?"
"I'll cook you something. You stay here or take a shower and I will have it ready for you when you get out."
Shawnie said as she got up and walked to the kitchen. He did as he was told and took a shower. She was right when he got to the kitchen she had the dinner on the table ready for him. They sat down to eat. When they were finished he started cleaning up the dishes. She carried the remaining dishes to the sink and started helping with the dishes..................................
