Charing was noted for her leche plan, pastillas, hamon, lechonde leche, pastries, preserves, and the like which she personally prepared with the assistance of helpers.

While two of Don Ricardo’s brothers settled in Negros Occidental, Don Ricardolived in manila and married there. He had two sons, Ricardo and Jesus. Like the senior, the junior Ricardo was a businessman and owner-operator of the Manila Yellow Taxi Company. The younger brother, Jesus was also a businessman and administrator of the Properties of Ayala Corporation where he was also one of the stockholders. His wife was Alice Bruggman, a foreign national also related to the Ayalas. The junior Ricardo married Maria Pacita (Paz) Zamora who had etched a named for herself as Doņa Maria Paz de Mascuņana in the Philippine history.
