The marriage bore two children, Margarita
(Nitang)
and a male brother who died an infant. Nitang married Oscar Quisumbing,
Sr., a medical doctor with whom they had five children, three males and
two daughters. One of their sons, Edgar who is the eldest child is also
a successful medical doctor like his deceased father. Charing
married Atty. Manuel
Treyes, a judge of Talisay, Negros Occidental with whom
they had seven children, three sons and four daughters. Charing was well
remembered as an excellent in culinary art where she had special lessons
while a colegiala in Manila and earned a degree there. Everyone, particularly
Felicidad Jolito-Mascuñana fondly called Idad, one of Paeng’s later wives,
always welcomed and looked forward to Charing’s next visit to San Carlos.
Idad was among the few women in the family circle most interested to learn
the art of cooking from her.
