1. Leigh Honeywell:

1995 Provincial winner of the Canada Music Week and Music Writing Composition for class A-2 (11 years and under, written for voice) in the title of "The Unnamed Melody".

2. Mark Johnston:

On November 28, 1996, at the National Gallery of Canada, Espace Musique had presented a concert of music by young composers. At age 10, Mark was the youngest composer on the program. He performed his own composition "Sonata in D minor for oboe and piano" on the piano together with his sister Tamsin on the oboe that evening. He received praise from Richard Todd, the music critic in the next day's Ottawa Citizen.
In 1996, Mark's composition, "Toccata in E minor" written for two pianos won the 1996 Ottawa Youth Composition Prize.
On March 14, 1997, Mark's "Toccata in E minor" for two pianos was performed by Duo-pianists James Anagnoson and Leslie Kinton at the Tabaret Hall, University of Ottawa. He was 9 when he composed this piece. Again, he received excellent comments from Richard Todd on the March 16th and the Nov.24th Ottawa Citizen.
Mark was interviewed and appeared on the CBC news for his exceptional music achievements in violin, piano and composition.
Mark was Provincial winner of the 1997 Canada Music Week and Music Writing Composition for Class A-1 (11 years and under), written for piano in the title of "Minuetto in A minor".
In 1998, Mark's "Snow Dance" written for piano won second place for the A-1 Class.
