CIW ~ Seek, And You Shall Find
CIW ~ Trust in the Lord
Trust. It doesn't come naturally to us, does it. We can say we trust our friends, or our family. But do we really trust them? I have learned that there are qualities in us that are not revealed unless we change our ways of thinking. Trust is one of them. So is love. And so is kindness. These only are brought forth, and grow by and in the Holy Ghost. And you need to open your heart and believe in Jesus as your Savior and Lord to have the Holy Spirit work in your life. Tell me something. If it was up to you, would you give of yourself to someone in need? If you have it all, and are "living the good life", would you stop and think from Whom it all came? Let me tell you this truth. God is the Designer of your life. He has your life in the palm of His hand. He knows when you lie down, and when you rise up, and every single thought in your mind. Knowing this, will you trust in Him, Who is the great I AM? The One who feeds you, and keeps you safe? The One Who causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust? THE ONE WHO SAVES FROM HELL? If you have not Christ, you are faced with a crucial decision. Will you acknowledge the power of the living, saving King of kings in your life? Almighty God is everywhere. There is no escaping Him. You can try to hide from Him, but friend, He already knows where you are going to hide! You can NOT care about anyone but yourself, but God knows you BETTER than you know yourself. He sees pain, and sorrow, and hurt. He desires to heal the wounds of false trust in the home and workplace, in the nations and the world. God desires NO MAN to perish. People will say they love you, but without Jesus it is an empty thing. They make promises, but they are all in vain. Without God, my friend, NOTHING stands. God keeps EVERY promise He makes! Man cannot. Only Jesus can heal your life, and redeem your soul. But you have to TRUST, and BELIEVE IN HIM. See, God loved the world SO MUCH, that even while we were in sin, Christ died for us. He paid for us the unholy debt of sin: something we are born with and can never pay ourselves, whether it be through works, or religion, or any man-made device. Jesus DIED for YOU and ME. That's why He came. He saved us from eternal damnation by taking on our sins: past, present and future. He was the one blood Sacrifice that was acceptable to Almighty God. So now if we are saved, we can live as though we NEVER sinned. We have free access to the Father in heaven, all because Jesus loved us, and loves us still. More than we will ever know. He wants you to trust Him. That is His message to you today. Take the hint. My Father, thank You for being the God of second chances. Thank You for allowing me again to serve You here. May You move upon the hearts of those who do not know You, but seek to trust in, and live for something more: the Someone Who took their place. Open hearts this day, and be exalted, O Savior, the Light of the world, so that men may be drawn unto You, and Your Name be glorified. I praise You this day, dear Father. Thank You for Your Son, the Lord Jesus. In His Name I pray, amen.
"Where am I going?" "What am I doing here?" "I thought I had the answer..." "I am SO LOST..." Ever get the feeling sometimes that you can't find what you are looking for? You search and search, and ask questions, and still the thing or person you are looking for evades you. Sometimes you even forget to turn on the light, so you can actually SEE the lost item WHEN you manage to find it. I used to forget my keys a lot, till I learned to place them on a strap around my neck. It just proves that we CAN learn from our mistakes. Even dumb animals learn to do what they're supposed to when they are trained. The good part is this. When it comes to being loved, and cared for, we need not look any further than UP. Our search ends where God is, in heaven. He is all we need. If what you search for in this life isn't material, but spiritual, then you need look no further. There He stands, arms wide open, ready to snatch you from the abyss. There is the cross, bridging theway to eternal life. Yet there are so many who won't accept Him. They keep on wandering about in the dark, seeking out pleasures and material things. And strange but true - They never want to be found out, or else they will be exposed. Ooh, how scary that is! Listen to these words that are not my own. Life wasn't brought forth in vain. We weren't created to live for ourselves. But that's what many do, especially in these end times. "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die." That, I believe, is the sinner's motto. When we start living like this, we have to know we are LOST! Somewhere along the way, we wander off, having been enticed by some trinket off to this side - or to a pretty bauble over there - or maybe we just got tired of walking and began to slip backwards toward oblivion. People, we MUST get our priorities straight! We don't have much time left. Stop letting the enemy lead you by the nose to a promise you know he isn't going to keep. Tell him to take a hike! Quit looking for love in all the wrong places. Jesus hasn't made it any plainer than what we read in His Word. "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, SO THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE (emphasis mine)." John 3:16 says it all. There are many other verses in the Bible referring to salvation, if we take time out to search for them. And don't be afraid to ask God to point them out to you. Here's a hint: They're all in the New Testament. Get out your Bible, blow the dust off the cover, crack it open and read it, this time in earnest. I tell you now, my friend. We won't find everlasting joy, or peace, or fulfillment of life in this corrupt old world. Sure, satan can entice us, allure and tempt us with earthly things till he runs us to an early grave. And, sadly, too many have already gone that way. But today, Jesus says, "STOP! I gave My LIFE for you. Now what will you do with it? I love you, and I gave you free will. Will you keep on looking for earthly vanities, or will you accept Me as your Savior and Lord?" My friend, let Jesus Christ turn on the light in your life. He is the Light of the world, the Key that will never be lost, and the Door leading to everlasting life. Best of all, YOU will finally be found! Accept Him today, and search no more, because He is your all in all. Guar-an-teed!  Father, thank You again for allowing me the wonderful privilege of serving You here. Even when the words at first seem to be missing, Your Holy Spirit sheds light on them, takes control, and there they are, on the screen. I give You all glory and praise for being the Author and Finisher of my faith, and the Author of this work. Lord God, I ask You to take care of these here now. Help them find their way in this dark world to You, the Light of our life, and the Only Way to the Father. You shed your precious Blood for us, so we will no longer be lost, but found. The narrow gate is difficult, and few find it... but You, Lord Jesus, lead us by the hand through it, and on to eternal life. Oh let us all rejoice this day that You are King of kings, and Lord of lords, and You will never leave our side. Thank You, Lord God, for Your precious Son. Thank You for yet another saved soul. I love You so much. In Jesus' Name, I pray, amen.
