These handmade candle holders are made of brass. They have flower shaped engravings on the outside surface.
This exguisite set of mirror and candle holders were hande made from sterling silver. It is the most important object in Persian wedding ceremonies. It takes at least six months to make a set like this, and it is sold in Persian handcraft stores for about $1000.
Engraving (or "ghalamzani" in Farsi) is decorative work on metals, such as copper, brass, silver, and gold. The artist draws the design on a piece of metal, and then hammers it out from the front to the back, or vice versa.
