Throughout its 82 year history, members of the Martha Dandridge Garden Club have enjoyed sharing gardening knowledge and expertise among themselves and the community. Restoring and maintaining the Revolutionary War era graveyard in the historical section of Dandridge is the ongoing club project. Over the years, the club has donated native stone benches, a monument to honor the patriots, a flagpole, a sundial, and stair railings. During the club's 80th anniversary year, a new garden was planted and a pamphlet on the history of the graveyard was produced. Trees, shrubs, and bedding plants are maintained throughout the seasons. Visitors are warmly welcomed to attend garden club activities and programs. Members are encouraged to become involved in the activities of the organization. |
