the celebration of
Michelle and Mark
Michelle is 26 and a military brat who grew up in five different states.  She has also lived in the United Kingdom and Costa Rica.  She now lives in Orlando, Florida, where she works as a software engineer for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.  She has a BA in Anthropology from Florida State University and an MS in Computer Science/Software Engineering from the University of West Florida.  Her interests include travel and reading.
Mark is 28 and originally from Rhode Island, where his family lived until he was seven.  They then moved to Central Florida, where he lives today.  He has a BBA in Management from the University of North Florida and was employed as a Research Analyst for Cox Enterprises, Inc for several years.  He has returned to UNF and is currently a full-time student pursuing a BS in Computer and Information Science.  He is also a partner in a multimedia graphics entity.  Interests include watercolor painting, raquetball, tennis, and cars.
How They Met
Mark and Michelle met on December 30, 2000 in Orlando.  Michelle was living with her parents in the Florida panhandle and had come down to visit a friend for New Years.  That friend's boyfriend was a good friend of Mark's, and they all went out that evening.  Mark says that the moment he walked in the door and saw Michelle, he knew she was the one for him.

After Michelle returned home, an e-mail and phone relationship developed, and Michelle and Mark did not see each other again until May 2001, when she came down to interview for a job.  She got the job, moved to Orlando, and the rest is history!
How They Got Engaged
Mark and Michelle never formally got engaged!  All along there was a feeling that they were meant to be together and get married.  Somehow - neither remembers how or when - they started making wedding plans.  The date got postponed several times due to difficulties in securing the church, but finally a date of December 13, 2003 was set in stone.
The Ring
Michelle gets a lot of comments about her ring.  It is a silver claddagh ring, the traditional Irish wedding ring.  The design has been worn since the 17th century by people all over the world as a symbol of love, loyalty, friendship, and fidelity.

The ring was originally meant to be a promise ring, but has evolved into an engagement ring.  Michelle picked it out herself and it suits her personality perfectly.
