I have been waiting this year for this plant to bloom so that I identify it.  After going dormant in the winter I didn't remember planting it.  In spring of 2016 it started to come up again and I was in awe of the leaves: so delicate and lacy.  I posted a couple times in my Facebook feed to ask if anyone knew what it was.  When it got bigger then that is when it was identified as a Coreopsis.  I love the shape of the plant and now on June 18, 2016 I finally have a look at the full flower to give it the name Verticillata.  I had a little trouble identifying it because of the leaf shape.   However, I did identify the species and now can research it thoroughly.

This plant was gifted me by my mail lady in the summer of 2015.  It's hardy and thriving in full sun.  The garden it's in receives the Eastern-rising sun for most of the day.  There are no structures to inhibit it from getting full sun.  It is happy and thriving.

Deadhead to promote new flowers.  This particular Coreopsis will flower from early summer all the way through to October.  I water it when I water my other flowers.  That is a good soaking every Monday.  I spray my plants on the hotter days.  I also water in the morning so that none of my  plants get root rot and to cut down on molds.  For the most part I am so impressed with this plant.

For next year, the plan is to divide the plant and start a new plant to better organize my garden for a perennial display of beauty.
