It won't be long before
we approach Poynton's Nursery, usually a riot of colourful flowers. The Boulevard Cafe
is also here, on the top floor of the
Mediterranean style building. |
|
This is another excellent
place to stop for lunch or afternoon tea, and
seating on the terrace under the shade of the louvered roof is delightful on a sunny day. |
|
Near Poynton's, we come across a flood level marker, showing the height of the flood waters during
various floods.
|
Outside Poynton's, some cables cross the
river, providing a favoured perching spot for the many
Little Black and Little Pied Cormorants in the area.
Sometimes over 100 cormorants are perched together here.

The path now moves away from the road and is separated from the road
once more by parkland as we
approach the picnic area, and the end of the walk. We're
now back where we started.
