Dreamer in the CornerMy imagination is one of my favorite non-television channels to watch. Numerous beings such as unicorns, dragons, and wizards flood my mind in vivid detail. Fantastical creatures created from the minds of the imaginative are beautiful in their own unique way.

Unicorns are the mystical creatures of legend whose horn posseses the power to heal sickness when ground into powder. The unicorns depicted in movies and novels are ficticious, but unicorns were an actual creature. They are mentioned 9 times in the King James Bible in 5 different books.
It is believed that the unicorn mentioned in the bible was a mistranslation. Scholars believed that it all started when the Greek translation of one horned wild ox, monokeros, was translated as unicornos in Latin. When it was translated from Latin to English, unicornos became unicorn.
The belief that unicorns resembled horned white horses was also a misinterpretation. A Greek doctor by the name of Ctesias wrote down many stories he heard from Indian travelers about creatures in their homeland. He wrote in his journal a description of a wild ass as large as a horse, with a white body, red head, and dark blue eyes. As stories spread by word of mouth tend to change with each telling, unicorns eventually became what we know them as today.
