Week 33: Baby's little punches and jabs are becoming firm, sweeping movements! And sleeping through the night is now a thing of the past (Nicola - due to the baby, Marc - due to the World Cup soccer...) At antenatal class we learned about home safety, nappies and communicating with baby. It was the last class, so the next time we all see each other will be at the reunion.

According to www.essentialbaby.com.au
- Baby is now approx 43 cm (crown to toe)
- He/she weighs about 2000g

Week 32: A fairly quiet week - just the usual amount of kicking! At antenatal class we learned about settling the baby and bathing the baby. They currently recommend that baby sleeps on his/her back, but with his/her head turned to alternate sides to prevent flat, bald spots on the head. The tutor made bathing look easy - with a plastic doll, that is!

According to www.paternityangel.com
- Baby is now approx 40.5 cm (crown to toe)
- He/she weighs about 1900g

Week 31: At antenatal class this week we learned about caesarian delivery. These days, Mum remains fully awake (thanks to epidural pain relief - she feels practically nothing) and Dad is in the theatre too. There's a shield up, so neither have to see the incision. Baby gets delivered in about 5  minutes. We also learned about breastfeeding. Saw the Obstetrician today and all is well - see What's New.

- Baby is now approx 40 cm (crown to toe)
- He/she weighs about 1600g

Week 30: Not such a busy week this week. At antenatal class, we learned about the various forms of pain relief (Gas, Pethidine and Epidural). Marc asked the most questions - I had to nudge him as it was getting embarrassing (I can imagine what he was like at school!) We also learnt about positions and massage techniques to reduce pain. Next week we'll start learning about baby care.

According to www.essentialbaby.com.au
- Baby is now approx 38 cm
