My favourite planes

De Havilland Comet	The De Havilland Comet was the first passenger-jet. Even nowadays the shape is still very impressive. The project wasn't very successful, mainly because of all the accidents. There were only 113 Comets built in 12 years. You may have a look at my tribute to the Comet.
Sud Caravelle	The french sister of the Comet. Also the first civil jet with rear mounted engines. Worldwide in '96 there were 20 Caravelles in service, with 11 in Columbia.
Aerospatiale/BAe Concorde	Very much in advance of it's time, the Concorde is even nowadays very impressive. No other passenger jet will take you to Mach 2 and to 20000 m altitude. Only British Airways and Air France offer flights using this one of a kind bird.
Lockheed Tristar L1011	The Lockheed Tristar L1011 was the last passenger jet build by Lockheed. After only 250 L1011 the production was stopped in 1984, because of a lack of orders. This bird has become rare in Europe but is still used by Delta (and others) and can be seen in FRA.
Airbus 340	I had already the chance to fly five times on the A340. I was very impressed by the comfortable cabin. Bigger variants A340-500 and A340-600 have been launched at the '97 Paris Air Show.
Boeing 727	Perhaps my top favourite. Last time I flew the B727 I took an Iberia flight. The shape of the B727 is unique and makes it one of the most attractive aircrafts to observe.
