Wagons, HO!
Fall, 2002

Tallulah has outdid herselves this time, duckies; bringing style, wit, and some truly fierce wardrobe
innovations to the home of high-octane latte and geoducks.  That's right, babies, we finally made it to the Pacific Northwest, and I'm here to tell you, it's FABULOUS!  Not that getting here didn't come with its challenges, oh no no!  After loading our conveyance of escape with all our worldly possessions, deciding that Mel would take the helm, Gregory would be the designated drinker, and Boo Boo would be our hostage to fortune  (or captive audience, take your pick), we made it all of forty-five miles when the right tire on the stinkin' car dolly decided to part company.  Now I'm not one to drop names, but I strongly recommend the next time U need to Haul something, rent from Public Storage!!!  While the hour-and-a-half outside of Belton-freaking-Texas was annoying (to say the least!), the level of excitement was high enough that Tallulah managed to stay fairly stress-free until happily on the road again -- and not once did we look back!
(or 'Ho, get in the wagon!')
We spent the next four days  (and not an inconsiderable amount of the nights)  rambling back and forth across the Continental Divide, Points West, and the Oregon Trail, finally arriving in Beautiful Downtown Everett, Washington, just in time for the weekend.  It is so wonderful to be able to enjoy 'sweater weather' at the appropriate time of year  (hell, after a decade in South Texas, it's amazing to enjoy sweater weather at all!).  By Thanksgiving Gregory was able to move into Seattle proper  (and into the most CHARMING apartment I've seen in years!  Eat ya hearts out, swine!  And you know who you are), while Ms. Meldonna has been putting down a few roots in North Everett, as well as enjoying meeting many different and diverse individuals. Konnichiwa, duckies!
Ms. Meldonna also took time to travel this December, flying to LR AR for her baby brother's nuptials.  Ah, he ain't such a baby anymore...and has married one of the neatest straight people I've ever met in my life.  Once again, good luck and good times, and much love to the newlyweds --you kids are good for each other.
Well, my friends, I think that pretty much takes us into the new year...I can't wait to find out what happens next!
