We reassembled our bicycles under the smiling gaze of Chiang Mai's airport soldiers.  They were our first introduction to the curious stares that would constantly accompany us.  We pedaled through lands foreign beyond comprehension yet filled with the same joy, hope, and sorrow that unites our human family.  Through sweltering heat and punishing monsoon, chaotic development and totalitarian planning, we continued south to Singapore.
