Our
idea about tackling Mental Problem |
We
have learned through experience that the problem
of mental illness cannot be tackled with psychiatrists
and drug alone. For long term solution the efforts
of family, friends and trained psychiatric social
workers have to be combined. Manas has created
a space to experiment on this idea by bringing
in all these components together at a place. more... |

Our
beloved Amal-da, the main inspirational figure
behind Manas, passed away on July 11 2009. He
had been suffering from lung cancer for more than
two years. During the whole period of his illness
whoever went to see him, he used to discuss the
affairs of Manas. He was totally devoted to the
cause of mentally distressed persons and their
families. |
A
book named "Ghareo nahe paareo nahe"
of Sri Amal Som is published. It is a collection
of articles and speeches on the ideas and concepts
he developed regarding mental health problems
during his long association with Manas. |
Held
on 28th June 2009, Sunday at Madanpur (Teghari
