OOC: Eeek... Didn't notice the bumps... Time to get to work I guess...

*The Man5iacs look at each other... then look towards the monster... then give a final nod to each other...*

Man5iac 1: I still believe I'm the real one... The memories of the last battle are still clear...

Man5iac 2: I believe the same and remember the same...

CPU 1: Well... It's illogical for you both to be the real one... so therefore one of you must be a fake...

CPU 2: But... Why does the fake not just turn on us right now and kill us? It's obvious that Damien has enough power right now...

Man5iac 1 and 2: It does not matter... We must destroy this monster... and destroy it now...

*Man5iac 1 and 2 run in different directions... preparing to surround the monster and destroy it from it's sides...*

OOC: Nothing major right now... I've got a headache... Plus I've got to run...

Damian looked up from his monitor. Things were going his way again. It's been a few days since they first started the VR game, since he had killed the rest of the crew after they had turned the game on, since he stole the equipment and the children to his secret lab in the mountains. The authorities would never be able to find him. He chuckled to himself as he watched the pathetic leftovers of the original team of kids. He winced as he saw that kid who had shot him with the Dragon Pistol. How he had neglected to take that rare item out of the game he did not know, but it was too late now because once an item was filed into a player's personal inventory Damian couldn't touch it. But he still had control over the Demon Generator. He chuckled again seeing the kids trying to dodge his marvelous Chaos. If by some miracle the kids managed to get past it, there would still be 3 more bosses to finish the job. And Damian was still here. And with just a little more time he would be able to control the one called KoN's body. It would be smooth sailing from there. "Derek! Get me some coffee. And don't put as much sugar in it this time!" He snapped at the now mindless child who was once part of the team. He obeyed, lurching across the lab like a zombie. His empty body was now programed to do whatever Damian said. A brainwashing device like this would be worth a lot. And he would sell it to the highest bidder once his little "experiment" was finished...

"****!" MK said flying out of the way. The two Man5iacs were still flanking the Demon from the sides. He was amazed at how good they worked together, it was like they had same...mind. Oh yeah. But there was still the question of which was the real one. They'd have to find out later. Their priority was the Chaos thing now. After a quick reload on what little supplies he had left, MK popped up from behind a rock and double-blasted the Demon. It barely flinched, but turned its attention towards him. "****!" MK said again as he dove out of the way for probably the fifth time. TCM and Le'Chuck were busy taking care of the fallen KoN, and the Man5iacs didn't seem to have much strength left. They had to take care of this monster, but the Dragon Pistol was out of commision for the moment, and he had no ideas. "Somebody better think of something." He muttered to himself as he finished reloading and took another shot.

(You guys can now control Damian as you wish to move the story line across. You can also make up and attack us with the 'bosses' too. Make sure it's a cool one though!)

Le'Chuck: Well... Let's see here... The randomizer seems to have stopped while we're fighting this boss... Hmmm... This could be used to our advantage if we use this right...

Agility: Perhaps Intelligence... but we might want to head towards a little safe haven... to protect ourselves... TCM... and the limp KoN for now from that monster...

Intelligence: Agreed... TCM... You lead the way... We shall carry KoN...

*Le'Chuck takes KoN and carries him gently while following TCM...*

~~~Meanwhile...~~~
*Both Man5iacs have their Katana drawn... The Man5iacs Revenge... They slice towards the monster... and are both knocked off to the side...*
Both Man5iacs: Ooof...
*They cast heal on themselves... and gather Mana quickly... and both send a fire ball towards the bosses back... The fireballs hit each other... creating a big fireball with reverse motion... The Man5iacs draw Mana quickly again... both knowing what each other is thinking... The Fireball hits... and it is subtly distracted by it's intensity...*
Man5iacs: Perfect...
CPU's: We CPU's both know which intensity of Mana is needed from each other to bring this spell to it's regular power... NOW!!!
*The Man5iacs and CPU's knew what each other was thinking... They were on the sides of the monster... They finally released one of their most devastating spells...*
Man5iac 1: FLASH...
Man5iac 2: POINT!!!
*The Man5iacs channel there natural element thorugh themselves... pure lightning... about a gigavolt of it... They slowly watch as the monster gets shocked from every square millimeter of it's body...*
"Oh Gods when did this get so complicated? It was just a game and now we have to see how the **** we are going to get through this alive!" TCM said and crossed her arms. She also heard Le' Chuck sigh close behind her.
"I swear, I'll never EVER play a game again!" She kicked a little rock out of her way and then heard Le' Chuck laugh.
"Sure you will..." Le' Chuck said and grinned. TCM also laughed. Yeah she was definitely not letting go of that addiction.
"Yeah you're right. I won't. But I'll sure appreciate things more than I did before. My Bed for example!" TCM said and skipped happily as she remembered the coziness of a warm soft bed.
"Only you are able to think about such things at a time like this...." Le' Chuck said and shook his head smiling. TCM stopped, sighed and then turned around.
"I know but what else can I do? If I keep thinking about what we are going through I would want to shoot myself!! No... I have toe relieve my mind, even if it is with dreams or memories. I have no other choice. You know I can't get any crazier than I am already!" TCM said and smiled.
"Yeah you are right." He answered rather glumly. TCM didn't notice for she had already turned around. She walked for a few minutes and she stopped abruptly.
"What?" TCM took one more step then stretched out her hand. It was to dark for Le' Chuck to see anything else than what was immediately in front of him.
"What's wrong?" He asked trying to look what was happening. TCM turned around and even in the darkness he was able to see the whiteness of her face.
"It's a dead end...."
(OOC: Mental note: never eat during a hangover.. ugh.....)
"What?" Le' Chuck asked quietly.
"It's a dead End!! But this is not possible!?" TCM shouted and started to search around the walls. No it was definitely. They were closed. No way out.
"But that can't be....." TCM said leaning against a wall and then gliding down towards the floor. Le' Chuck kneeled down half laying half holding KoN.
"Why? It's a cave you know, there are a lot of dead ends!" Le' Chuck said.
"Yeah well it just happen to be that I came from this direction the first time I entered the cave." She answered and pointed over her head.
"I came crashing down and then I had to decide which way to go, either this one or the other. I took the other and arrived so at MadKatts resting place.
"But that means..." Le' Chucks eyes widened in horror.
"Yeah. Damian is polymorphing again...."
Damn good read, but I want in on the fun. Going on what KoN said a few pages back about there being plenty of room, I'm going to join. Character:
Name: Dave. Just Dave. Well, maybe David.
VR name: Rising Phoenix
Weapons: Standard fare sword, 9mm handgun, double-barreled shotgun.
Anything Else: Phoenix is in waaaay over his head...
I'll post my intro in the next post.
I don't know if anyone is still reading this board. I haven't seen any post with a recent time index lately. I don't know how I've managed to survive up to this point, but I have. Freakin' monsters keep coming, and it's really starting to get hard to fend them off. I'm in a building now. There's a sign, it says "Station #2". I don't know what that means. If there's more than one of these stations, this is the first one I've seen. I'm starting to run out of ammo. I've got about fourty-five...no, fourty-six bullets left for my nine, and I've got a pocket full of shells, but that isn't much. Are you all dead? Am I the last one alive? Or did you get out? God help me, please don't leave me in here. Not alone.
There's some medkits here, about three and a half. There's also what looks like a secure room. I haven't slept in a long time, so I think I'm going to rest here for a while. Otherwise, if you guys are still in here, you'll only find my corpse.
If you find this station, knock before you come in the secure room. I don't want to shoot anyone or anything other than these damn monsters.
Please...please don't tell me you're all dead. I don't know much about computer coding, and I can't beat Damien on my own...
Dave
MadKatt covered his eyes as the Man5iacs used their combined spell. He was in awe at how they could adapt so well to the features of the VR game. He had never been very imaginative (Yeah, right...) so he probably would never be able to pull off a spell whether it was a game or not. At any rate the spell seemed to have done major damage to the Boss Demon. It lurched a little, swaying as it tried to get up. Blood, or was it mechanical oil, gushed from charred wounds in its body. "All right!" MK shouted. The thing wasn't dead, but, hell, deep fried demon is better than a perfectly healthy one. Suddenly some kind of imp creature leapt on to it and started attacking. "What the hell?" MK said. All of the team members are supposed to have human models. Who, or what is that? MK thought to himself.
"Damn!" Damian slammed his fist on the table. "Why can't I get past their magic abilities? Why the hell was there magic programmed into this damn game anyway?!" Damian screamed to himself. He grumbled on a bit more, but then a new message post came to his notice. "Phoenix, eh? I haven't seen that kid post in a while. I could have sworn I killed him." Damian said, to himself again. "Well, there's one more guine pig for my experiment then." Damian cracked his fingers and started up the Demon Generator again.
I just woke up. I have no idea what time it is.
There seems to have been no response to my earlier post. I'm going to go on the assumption that you're all dead until I have better evidence to the contrary.
If any of you are alive, I'm heading out. I can't hide here, and I won't. There's apparently other stations. Maybe I can find some ammo there, or maybe I can find clues on your whereabouts. Either way, I'm leaving.
I'll take one of the medkits, just in case I
<End Message>
Phoenix suddenly heard a roar from outside the station, and he knew exactly what it was. Damien had sent another demon.
Crap, he thought as he pulled his double shotgun from his back. This gun wasn't very easy to fire one-handed, but he had learned how to do so since this whole mess had begun. He checked to make sure there were still two shells in the gun, then drew his nine millimeter and held it in his other hand. This combined firepower wasn't strong enough to take down most demons, but he was able to weaken them significantly before he had to use his sword.
Well, might as well get this over with, he though as he kicked the door to the outside open.
And there was the biggest, most inhuman thing he had seen yet. Forty-six bullets and a pocketful of shells wasn't going to even make this thing flinch.
(OOC: Course, now that I put myself up against that thing, I gotta wonder how I'm going to kill it.)
(OOC: No one else is posting, and I've put off this demon battle long enough. Time to kick butt or die trying.)
Descriptions failed him.
Phoenix couldn't think of a way to accurately describe this thing to anyone he might meet later, assuming he survived. All he could say was it was a big, friggin' demon.
And it seemed intent on killing him. Wonderful.
Of course, what isn't intent on killing me here?
Without another thought he fired both barrels of his shotgun at once. The kick was extreme, far more than he was used to, and the shotgun flew out of his hand. Unfortunately, the buckshot from the blast only seemed to enrage the demon. It charged, and it was fast.
Crap!
Phoenix took the blow right in the chest, flying through the air several feet before crashing painfully to the ground. As he stood up again, he felt a severe pain in his chest with each breath, and figured he must have several bruised and/or broken ribs. Not that it mattered. It was better than death anyway.
Running as fast as he could, he strafed the beast, firing his nine as fast as he could, while reaching behind him for his sword. The titanium blade would do incredible damage to any foe, but he had to be within striking distance, and that tended to be more dangerous than it was worth.
The bullets from the nine were barely noticed by the beast as it charged again. After sixteen shots, the gun went dry, and the demon was only ten feet away and closing fast.
Phoenix prayed. He had no more guns. It would take too long to reload the handgun, and he was no longer certain of where he had dropped the shotgun. He held his sword in both hands, drawing painful breaths, and prayed.
(OOC: This is probably gonna hurt something.)
"The one who seeks revenge must remember to dig two graves"
From: Risenphoenix999 | Posted: 12/11/2001 7:26:26 PM | Message Detail
Phoenix stood his ground. This could very well be the end, but he would not run anymore. Besides, running would only mean death; this thing was a hell of a lot faster than he was.
His sword held in both hands, he patiently waited for the demon to draw closer, a slim, desperate chance for survival forming in his mind.
He certainly didn't have to wait long.
The demon closed faster than anything he would have thought possible, and there was no margin for error. At the last possible second, he fell to the ground backwards, and watched as the demon charged over him, thanking whatever deity might exist that he was not trampled to death. At the same time, he thrusted his sword into the air, and held the hilt as tightly as he could.
The demon cleaved itself in two for him.
Phoenix stood up and looked back as the horrendous, most dangerous beast he had yet encountered. This one had almost taken him out, had come closer than anything else had on its own. If there were any more of these, he might not survive another battle.
He collected his shotgun, and reloaded both ranged weapons. His ribs hurt bad, bad enough that he would probably need medical attention when he got back to the real world. If any of this damage was real, that is. Who knew, other than Damien?
He returned to the station.
<Start Message>
I think Damien is getting more annoyed by my continued survival. The demon he just sent after me was far stronger than anything I've seen yet. I think I got lucky. I have a couple of bruised, maybe broken ribs, but there are some painkillers in the medkits, along with some tape. I've fixed myself up as best as I can, but I'm no doctor. If I get into many more fights in this condition, I'm probably not going to survive.
I'm down sixteen bullets for my handgun, which leaves thirty, and two shells for my shotgun. I've just counted my shells, and I've got six left. If anyone knows where I can find ammo, or more weapons, please tell me. My nine doesn't do much more than irritate any of the creatures, and my shotgun takes too long to reload. I've still got my sword. It'll last, at least.
I've used enough supplies from these medkits to render one and a half of them useless, and I'm going to take another one with me. I'm heading towards the large mountain with a lake just nearby, in case anyone gets here or decides to look for me.
If anyone is alive out there, wish me luck. I think I'm using all of mine up.
Damien, you'll pay for this hell.
<End Message>
Phoenix left the station, still alone, as he had been since this chaos had begun, yet more determined than ever. Damien had thrown everything but the kitchen sink at him, and he had managed to survive.
I'll find a way out of this terror, come hell or...well, just high water then.
And despite everything, he smiled.
(OOC: For those who don't know, tape is to keep ribs tight and prevent them from moving too much. So now I have a big friggin' waistband made of fairly tight tape.)
"Argh! Damn!" Damien swore as he looked at the message board. "How could that Phoenix kid have survived that battle? Those other fools haven't even managed to destroy the first demon boss, and he just cuts down a minor boss like it was nothing? How is it possible? Where the hell did he come from, anyway? I thought I destroyed him!
"Hmmm...he didn't come through without any damage though. He won't survive very long with those injuries. Perhaps I should finish him off first...No, that group is more dangerous than he is. I destroy them first, then I'll concentrate on him. Of course, I can't just leave him alone." He powered up the Demon Generator, but something happened. Something he had not counted on.
Warning: Maximum demon levels achieved. Adding additional monsters is not permitted until current demons have been defeated. Fairness must be maintained.
"What is this? Damn it!" Damien yelled as he threw his coffee at the Derek zombie-kid. "Who was the fool that programmed in this 'fairness' protocol? Damn, now I have to spend valuable time bypassing this. Damn!" He began looking at the program code.
~Meanwhile~
Well, this was a waste of time, Phoenix thought as he surveyed the landscape around him. He was finally at the top of the mountain he had seen earlier, but there wasn't much to see. It almost looked like the terrain had been left unfinished or something. Behind him, where he had come from, was the desert, the lake, and the side of the mountain he had just climbed, as well as Station #2. But in front of him was formless grey. Like a boundary or something.
Heck, maybe it's the edge of the world or something, he thought in derision. I wish. No, this game was completed when I and the others started playing. This shouldn't be here. But what is it? It doesn't make any sense.
"Anyway, it doesn't matter. I don't have time for this. I have to keep moving," he said, talking to himself. He had grown accustomed to keeping himself company. Although he had no sense of the passage of time, he knew that he had been talking to himself for at least twenty to thirty hours before arriving at Station #2. It kept him sane, gave him the false but reassuring sense that he wasn't entirely alone. At least he had himself. Well, himself and two guns. They hadn't shut up in the longest time, and they always said the same damn thing. It was getting so repetitive.
Again, he smiled as he set off, walking along the top of the mountain, parallel to the formless grey. Just then, a feeling came over him, and he looked at the grey as he walked again. There was definitely something not right about it, but he suddenly had the sense that there was more to it than that. This wasn't just not right, this was wrong, and when something went wrong in a computer program like this, programmer's called it a-
Just then, he heard a growl from ahead, and looked up to see what he called a minor demon in his path. Minor demons weren't tough at all. They could take a few bullets, but one sword swipe tended to defeat them, regardless of where the sword happened to hit.
"Didn't you hear me?" Phoenix asked to monster, "I said, I don't have time for this." He drew his shotgun and held it in both hands tightly, waiting for the demon to make its move, as he knew it would. He had killed more of these friggin' things than he cared to admit, and he had their patterns down.
The thing threw itself at him just then, but it was just too slow. He brought the shotgun up and braced himself, then fired both barrels at once. Again, the kick was tremendous, but he managed to hold on to the gun this time. The monster seemed to disappear in a cloud of blood, which quickly faded from sight. Phoenix reloaded and kept moving. Four shells now.
(OOC: Just in case it's not as obvious as I wanted it to be, Damien is now distracted. Please use to your advantage.)
Chaos wobbled a little more. The air was filled with the smell of over-cooked barbeque. MK had enough time to reload his shotgun fully, up to 8 shells. He treaded carefully to the smoking monster, was it dead or not? He was ready to dive out of the way at a moment's notice, but even if the Chain Gun was still operational, it didn't look like it would still move. MK brought the shotgun up to aim, trigger-finger itchy. Suddenly it started moving. It got up on shaky knees and spasming wildly. MK unloaded all of his shots into the thing's head, but it didn't even feel it. It gave out one long metalic screech that seemed to shake the whole ground. MK had to cover his ears. When he looked up again the Chain Gun started spinning, ready to fire. But before anything happened the thing's skin started to come off its bones and mechanical frame. All of it started to fall apart, until only its strange skeletal system remained. It crashed down onto the floor, it's Gun still pointed right into MK's face. His breath came out shaky and slow. MadKatt got up to his feet and quickly got away from the dead monster. Then he saw the imp that had attacked the Demon earlier. "All right, who or what are you?" He asked calmly, but had his hand on his beam blade, just in case. He awaited an answer.
Apparently, there's no continuity to the numbering of stations. Either that, or I'm going in the wrong direction. I'm now at Station #17. I'm still in fairly good shape, although I've managed to defeat a few more demons. Is it just me, or are they getting more and more vicious? Probably the latter, since Damien doesn't seem to want anyone to survive.
I've been wondering, why is he trying to kill us? It's not like we can actually die in VR, but since no one has apparently managed to come back from death, there has to be something happening to them.
I'm confused.
Anyway, it's not important in the grand scheme of things. Survival is the top priority now, as it has been since this chaos started. I've found some ammo caches here: a few clips of nine millimeter bullets, and a box of shells, which adds up to ten. I've got enough ammo and painkillers to keep me going for a while.
Something caught my eye on the way here. Once I climbed to the top of that mountain I said I was heading to, I say a formless grey insubstantial thing on the other side, leading of into infinity. I have no idea what that means, though. Maybe someone else can figure it out.
Man5iac, I would like to stay put, but I seem to be attracting demons, so I'm going to head out again. I'm going to head towards the dead forest I can see in the distance. Try and catch up. If the territory shifts again (why hasn't it done that lately?), then just orient yourself so that you're looking right once you exit the station. I'll be in that direction as much as possible.
<End Message>
Phoenix sighed as he posted his update. At least now he knew he wasn't alone, but it was too bad he couldn't meet up with anyone yet. He had no idea just how far behind Man5iac was, and he couldn't wait for longer than five minutes without attracting a big bad@$$. He had to keep moving. Besides, it gave him a sense of actually going somewhere. Heck, there had to be something here that led out, right?
"Well, right?" he asked the unresponsive air. Getting, as usual and expected, no response, he sighed again, checked that his weapons were loaded, then set off towards the forest of dead trees.
TCM listened carefully. The fight seemed to have stopped. Perhaps that was why the Terrain had changed. Of course that meant something quite dangerous. Damian could easily close them in, in the cave. There was only one exit anyway. TCM looked at Le' Chuck. He seemed to have arrived to the same conclusion.
"We better leave now.."TCM whispered and then both turned around and ran their way back. Both could feel their heart pounding almost in their throats. Not because of tiredness even though they were. No it was the fear that drove them. How could they go through massive Stone if they got closed in? They kept running, Le' Chuck in front of her. She was amazed by the strength that that monkey had. KoN could almost been considered dead weight, yet the monkey kept up his pace moving with feet and hands all the same.
Damn..... TCM thought as she realized that she wasn't able to recognize anything passing by her side. What if they were never able to return to the others? What would happen to KoN? They had to get him out of there. Somewhere where there was fresh air and light. It was so cold in the cave. She hadn't really noticed until yet. It was rather humid actually.
"I think this is the exit!" She heard as if from far away. She blinked and found herself in a narrow path. At the end of this path there was a dim light visible.
"Oh hopefully it's the exit. I don't feel any air though..." She said and kept going. I wonder where we are going to come out...
(OOC: I need to know if that gray thing is a terrain or just a creature.)
*Man5iac 1 finally reaches station number 2... and reads his most recent post...*
<Begin Message>
Phoenix... Keep walking that way... I'm not quite sure which station you'll be hitting next but I have three guesses... I should be able to get ahead of you with the polymorphing terrain... I'll give you assistance from there... I'm not the only one alive by the way... Either 3 or 4 other people are still alive in this game from what we can gather... I'm not sure what to make of that grayish stuff... and neither does CPU... But try to stay near your next station for as long as possible...
<End Message>
Man5iac: CPU... The three stations... They're close together?
CPU: Yes... They are called Station #6, Station #13, and Station #5... The one that's in between the other two... or so to speak... is Station #5...
Man5iac: Really? How ironic... Let's get going...
*Man5iac heads in the opposite direction phoenix said to go... and begins taking the fastest route to Station #5...*
~~~Meanwhile...~~~

*Man5iac 2 arrives near MadKatt right as he asked the imp the question...*

Man5iac: Yes... That would be an interesting question... By the way... Man5iac 1 is downloading the map files to the internet so that anyone can get to it...

~~~Meanwhile...~~~
Le'Chuck: Well... What should we do TCM?
OOC: Now... TCM... You still have control over Le'Chuck who's holding KoN's body... And Phoenix... It's your choice which station you arrive at... You might not even arrive at one of them that's near what CPU predicted... And yes... I do run into monsters... That's what slows me down...
Well, this forest certainly is...well, dead, I guess. Man, I really need to stop stating the obvious.
Phoenix looked around at the tall, dead trees, trying to remember which way he was going. Everything looked alike to him. The ground hadn't changed since leaving the station: it was still flat and featureless; and the trees looked more or less the same, so he couldn't use those as landmarks.
Well, screw it. I'll just pick a direction. I've gotta get out of this place eventually.
He began walking again.
~Meanwhile~
Damien looked up as his monitor announced that a new message had been posted to the board. He read it quickly.
"So, that strange Man5iac is looking for Phoenix, is he? Well, I can't let them join forces. These kids are tough enough on their own." Having just finished removing the "fairness" protocol from the program code, he had been contemplating what to send against whom. Now, here was a perfect opportunity, and he hadn't even had to do anything. He began typing quickly. These foolish children, resourceful though they seemed to be, were still nothing but weak, pathetic kids. They would fall, as all the others had before them.
He grinned maniacally.
~Back to Phoenix~
I must be going in circles or something. I mean, there's no end to this place.
Suddenly, Phoenix heard a deep rumble from another part of the forest. It sounded like an earthquake, but there wasn't any...
Ahh, there's the rumbling. Now where did that come...from...oh CRAP!
An entire army of monsters was bearing down on him. There had to be dozens, maybe hundreds.
Great.
~Once more, Meanwhile~
Damien grinned as he watched Phoenix's face drop at the sight of his horde, but he wasn't finished yet. First, those fools in the cave, then Man5iac. He began typing again. If his boss demons couldn't defeat these kids, then he would simply overwhelm them.
(OOC: Enjoy.)
MadKatt studied the little imp thing as it tried doing hand gestures. Guess it can't talk... MK thought, trying to figure out what it was trying to tell them. At least it wasn't attacking. He looked at Man5iac and shrugged, then turned back to the imp. "All right, just calm down, uh, imp...thing. Why don't you write out what you're saying in the dirt or something? It'll be a lot easier for all of us."
TCM stood there wondering about what to do. If they returned and looked for the others they had a greater chance of surviving if they stuck together. On the other side, KoN needed.... something. His situation might get worse if they stayed. TCM sighed in despair but she didn't had time to think about it, for a dark roar was heard right behind them.
"That sound has become so damn familiar lately......" TCM said rather to herself as she took out her Shotgun and turned around. Le' Chuck put KoN's body down softly and then also prepared to fight, but what they saw was breath taking.
"WTF is that?" TCM said as she not one, but a whole group of Demons.
"Oh ****!" Le' Chuck said and unconsciously stepped back. Damian had never done such thing. Had never sent so many Beasts all at once. What was going on? TCM knew that it was impossible to handle them all at once, much less in such a narrow path.
"I think we better leave..." Le' Chuck said under his breath. TCM nodded but they were approaching rapidly and if they turned them their back they were goners. She had to stop them only for a couple of seconds. Suddenly an Idea popped up!
"Quick grab KoN and run out! I'll slow them down!" She said and turned around to face the horde that was getting closer with every word they spoke.
"But..." Le' Chuck said hesitating. He just couldn't leave her there!
"GO!!" TCM screamed vehemently and aimed towards the ceiling of the cave. Le' Chuck understood her plan and quickly turned around, grabbed KoN in one smooth movement and ran towards the near exit. TCM waited a few seconds more and then shot. The whole cave rumbled and crumbled and she knew it was a matter of seconds before the whole passage was going to collapse. She raced towards the exit and was pleased to hear that the ceiling had done its job by crushing a few demons. Breathless they arrived outside, just in time because they had barely taken a step outside when the entrance collapsed. A few roars were still audible.
"We better go, those beasts might be able to dig their way out!" Le' Chuck said and started to move down hill. A wide Forest extended itself among them. It was better than staying in the cave anyway...
Phoenix ran.
He had no idea where he was going, but he didn't much care. If he didn't run, that horde of demons would get him. There was no way he could take on so many.
Only problem was, he didn't seem to be losing them.
Matter of fact, they were catching up, if he wasn't horribly mistaken, much as he wished he were. He needed a plan of action to get the hell away from here, fast. And he was running out of time, out of energy, and out of luck.
There!, he thought as he saw a building up ahead. It didn't look spectacularly wonderful, but at the moment, those stone walls were the most welcome sight he had ever seen.
He ran into the building, slamming the heavy iron door behind him as fast as he could, and hearing not three seconds later the dull thumps of monsters hurling themselves at the door, trying to force it open.
Phoenix looked around quickly. He seemed to be in another station, from what he could tell. Had he run out of the forest at last? He had to admit that in his frenzied rush, he hadn't noticed. He quickly ran to the computer.
<Start Message>
For the love of God, someone please help me. I'm at another station, #13, according to the sign. Not sure exactly where I am. Monsters, demons, hundreds of them. They're all after me. I barely made it here, but they've surrounded the building and are pounding on the door, trying to get in. It's holding, for now, but if they knock it down, I'm done for. Someone, please, help me.
Oh, crap, they've started throwing themselves at the stone walls. Those might not even hold as long as the door. I'm finished. It's over. But at least I'll go out fighting, damn it.
<End Message>
With nothing else to do but wait for the inevitable end, Phoenix looked around the interior of the station again. That's when he noticed a locker-type object standing against the far wall. He walked over to it, and, using his handgun, blew off the lock with several shots. He opened it, and his heart-rate quickened at the sight of what lay inside.
"Oh, baby, where have you been?" he asked the minigun he pulled from the locker. He grabbed a belt of ammunition and loaded the weapon, then started the barrels spinning.
"Time to kick @$$ and take names."
