Why yet ANOTHER homeschooling page? Because we love homeschooling! This page is written from the perspective of a neopagan lesbian homeschooling mom living in Alabama. We are eclectic classical homeschoolers and one of our big challenges has been to find secular resources for the classical approach to home education.

The classical approach to homeschool has been and still is a challenge for us. The idea of teaching the great books, and great ideas appeals to me greatly. There is, however, way too much busy work in most classical curriculum. Also, as my son gets older, I find there to be much that he doesn't get with the classics. I'm struggling to make sure he gets the education that will serve him best in the real world. Isn't everyone who homeschools? *G*

We have recently moved to Huntsville, AL. This represents a challenge on the homeschooling front as the only legal way to homeschool in Alabama is through a church cover school or with a private tutor. I do know there is at least one pagan cover school in Alabama, and there are ways for your family to also be your own church. We aren't as happy with living here as we had hoped, but will be here for th next couple of years at least.
