Saturday, November 30, 2002 The State Theatre in downtown St. Petersburg
Malixous journeyed across the bay to the State Theatre in St. Pete to celebrate the debut of Orions Cloud, Malixous Entertainments new short film. An official selection of Renegade Films Saints and Sinners Ball 2, the film was shown large-format to a receptive audience of peers, contemporaries, and malcontents.
We joined Diamond and Greg, everyones favorite mentally ill rockers, on their journey to show Tampa who is the greatest band around. They dont let a hostile society, or their lack of musical ability, slow them down in their mission.
Fun was had by all, and an official S&S2 Award for Best Actor was picked up by Mike Skold.
But don't just take our word for it, learn more about the festival at Renegade Films.
Wednesday, March 7, 2001 The New World Brewery in Tampa's Ybor City Latin Quarter
Utilizing a 10 foot screen, a video projector, and a changing area, the Malixous crew presented a seamless blend of live skits, pre-recorded clips, and special musical guests.
Skits included a special Orion's Cloud piece that could only be seen at the event. Then Greg, Diamond and Farmer showed up at the New World. Unfortunately Greg suffered a panic attack and had to be talked down by Diamond.
The Film Critic took some questions from the audience, and even Detectives Kroller and Tibbs took some time from their glamorous world of undercover intrigue to check out the crowd. Both agreed the audience was full of "real scumbags".
After a series of the infamous "What About Now?" skits (including a risque ladie's room exchange that can't be shown in it's entirety), Aaron Lepley of November Foxtrot Whiskey played some acoustic selections.
The night ended as it began; with downtempo flavorings from DJ Brian Ward.
