The fun show at Outwell was a lovely show, with good weather, and socially first class, but dead loss for winning. Barney was awarded 2nd for 'the dog the judge would like to take home' which was as usual the last class. I don't usually enter this one, but with the lack of shows, the 'show fund pot' being quite full, I can support them as much as possible. This was a small fund-raising event for the hospital in the small local town, so well worth supporting.

The SCAMPS heat was won by the dog that is the CMC Supreme Champion. It is the second year this dog has won this coveted title. Her dog looks a lot like a pedigree setter. She is a dog breeder, and came across this dog, which was a 'mistake'. Red Setters have won Crufts twice in recent years, always looking a super dog.

It is a difficult call to show a mixed breed dog professionally, yet present a dog in it's own right, not a lookalike breed. Not wanting to appear biased, experienced judges have to be obtained, from pedigree shows, and still have an eye for that type of dog. Bear in mind, it is only a personal opinion, and lots of the dogs are of the same high standard. Mind you, it's hard for a man to show a dog. The male judges pick all the pretty blondes, and most females are men haters, from divorce etc. LOL.

Several people came up and spoke, all very friendly and I heard of some more shows to go to in July. And Barney won his supper, which he had when we got home.
