Hair: Thick locks of brown hair fall to Zylinyae's waist, constantly unbound, in loose ringlets. It is naturally curly (lucky bitch <g>).
Eyes: She has bright blue eyes, eyes that have thick rings of black around the irises and incredibly small pupils. They have a thick ring of near black around the irises, very startling and quite dramatic. Her eyes dominate her face.
Build: Thin, smooth-boned, and sleek, Zylinyae's body gives her the look of a stalking cat.
Complexion: Bronzed skin marks Zylinyae, kissed by the sun.
Identifying Marks/Other: Zylinyae wears pale colors, mostly greens and blues, claiming to be "one with the earth and daughter of the sky". She has a far-away, dreamy look on her face at all times, as though she is not really here.

Personality: Zylinyae is thoughtful, curious, intense, and dreamy. Why focus on the real world, after all, when you can dream your days away? She likes to imagine herself in positions of power - goldrider, Holder Lady, Master - just to decide what she would do, although she has no aspirations to greatness. She is a poet and a philosopher, liking to think of things beyond the earth and sky that go deeper - more soulful, more intense. More than once, Weyr residents have whispered behind her as she passed, "She's just like Alaeja...do you think they're sisters?"
    Zylinyae has never met Alaeja, but the Weyr folk are probably right. She and Goldrider Weyrling Alaeja are kindred spirits in several ways, although Zylinyae has learned to art of social skills a bit better than the Weyr's young goldrider ever will.

History: Zylinyae's mother was a kindly, gentle woman, thin as a reed. She was admonished time and again by the Healers (her esposued especially) that she should not get pregnant, as she had not the right body for it. However, Lanyli was obstinate and never listened to a thin anyone else had to say to her.
    When she got pregnant with Zylinyae, therefore, she didn't listen to her husband's admonishments to have an abortion. She carried Zylinyae to term, only to die in childbirth, leaving Zylinyae in the hands of her father.
    Zartk was a good-tempered man before Lanyli's death, but with the passing of his wife, Zark lost the basic human element of himself. He raised Zylinyae, but hated her secretly, for she looked like her mother and acted like her mother. Inside, he blamed his daughter for the loss of his wife, although he never told Zylinyae as much. She was not oblivious, however, and turned away from her family to seek consolation elsewhere.
    She never apprenticed to a craft, although she was pressured to become a Harper by many of the Harpers at the Hold, for she was a good poet with a firm, strong voice and an instinctive knowledge of music that others lacked. When she was sixteen, she was Searched for Impression. She moved to Makala Weyr and never looked back.
