meet da' titas!!! Introduction / Miku Uemura / Miyo Uemura / Schedule / News-Events / Travel / Collection / Makaha Beach / Gallery
Wassup! Hi everybody!! Welcome and thanks for visiting our very own web site. For those of you who don't know who we are here's a little introduction... Have fun!!!
... a Hawaiian word that means "sisters"... the surfer girls of Makaha. We are all "Titas". Even though we girls may not be related, we act and treat each other as if we really were. It's a local thing. At Makaha, we are one big ohana or family. It's kind of a weird feeling at first, but after a while, you get used to the idea and it's very comforting. In fact, being with each other beats wasting time at someplace like the mall. We all know that everyone is always keeping an eye on us. That's how we, Titas, are able to obtain our sense of pride, attitude, and security from those who watch over us like our guardian angels. We look after one another and will stand at each others' side no matter what happens... but of course, if things get out of control, we can always depend on our big brothers at the beach or our uncles when things get really tough. For us Titas, our
daily routine is simple. We wake up early in the morning... get ready...
and head down to the beach. We have an early morning surf session before
the sun comes out, to beat the crowd. Soon, in about an hour or two of fun,
the crowd starts coming. That's when we go to It's a lot of fun
being a part of the "Titas". You get to make lots of close friends or
"sisters" who share common interests with yourself. We are all about being
daughters of the ocean. It is our life source. It gives us so much and it
teaches us many things. We know when we're being scolded because we get
"donuts", pounded by the waves, when we don't pay attention. And, in
return, the best thing we can do for the ocean is to look after it by
keeping it clean. We really are like sisters. Take for example, sometimes we'll even get into arguments amongst ourselves, but we'll always make up afterwards because we really do love each other. That's what we're all about... being sisters is being able to trust, love, protect, and care for each other because we're one big ohana..
