.:Music:.
Music is a strong part of anyone's life. Any person can relate to a particular song, whether it relates to a past experience, a special chapter or person of one's life, or an aspect of one's persona. For me, it's all of the above. I enjoy various types of music; it would depend on my mood and emotion, my location, and/or my situation. Here are the genres I listen to.
R&B and Soul
I grew up listening to R&B and soul music; I like all various forms from the classic soul from
the 60s to the neo-soul of today. In my opinion, these forms of music represent humanity in
every emotion. Through these forms, a song can tell a story about love, hate, joy, pain,
victory, or tragedy. A song can soothe your mind, body, and soul after a long day of work.
A song can help a person release whatever pent-up pressure one has been holding back. I like
a lot of R&B and soul artists, despite of their different styles.
Rap/Hip-Hop
I like listening to rap and hip-hop. Many are still surprised at the changes rap has gone
through. Now it seems that there are many diverse forms of rap. I love to turn up the volume
and the bass and have it vibrate throughout my ride and at the house.
Reggae
I became a reggae fan since its high point in the 90s. I can't understand most of it, but the
sounds are very good.
Pop and Rock
I listen to both genres, but I have one rule for that...I only like what I hear. That's my
basic rule in terms of music, and I use that rule heavily with these particular genres. I only
like certain songs, but I rarely like the artists.
Country
Same rule as pop and rock...so long if it's not depressing lol.
Gospel and Inspirational
In my opinion, it is the most important and most needed form of music today. We all need
something to believe in, don't u think?
