Prince

Prince, the Artist, the Artist former known as, whatever his name is, it is sure to be backed with utter brilliance. Few people have amassed such a broad volume of work in the past 20 years as this pop star. His releases have averaged around one per year since his start in the music industry! Most people would argue that this volume of work would dilute the quality of the music, I disagree.

Since his beginning in the late 70s, Prince has showed the world that he is capable of seemlessly working elements from different styles including funk, pop, reggie, psychedelia; Even ballads weren't beyond his grasp. His mastery of studio techniques allowed him to produce complex harmonies and rhythms while maintaining simple melodies for his pop audience to grasp. The lyrics that were laid over these studio tracks were usually nothing short of inspiring. But it may have been his sheer singing ability that brought the words to life. Prince showcased his voice in a true virtuoso style.

Prince still presses forward with his creativity to this day and there is no sign of the end. His abilitiy as a musician in just about any catergory is absolutely phenomenal. Recommended albums would be 1999 and Purple Rain, but none are disappointing.
