Neil Young

Neil Young

Although not as prolific as Bob Dylan, Neil Young's body of work stretches longer than most choose to stay in the industry. Young's strength lies in his immense songwriting talent. Whether he was working with CSN, Buffalo Springfield, or anyone else, his songwriting was at the forefront.Young's topics have ranged from political strife and social disorders to historical references and simple storytelling. Sometimes his words have actually brought about comments from those he was mocking, such as Richard Nixon and Lynyrd Skynyd in their famous "Sweet Home Alabama" in response to Young's "Southern Man"

Although much of his work is based in tradition folk style, he has crossed the boundary into heavy rock music on several occasions, working with newer bands such as Pearl Jam. A cross section of his diverse style could easily fill an entire CD case.
