Bob
Dylan
Bob
Dylan has become one of the most well-known and respected songwriters
of the 20th Century. Odds are if you haven't actually heard Bob
Dylan play a song, you've probably heard someone else play it! The
most famous versions of his songs were generally covers because
some people don't get into his folk style of playing or singing.
Remember "All Along the Watchtower", Bob Dylan wrote it.
"Mr Tamborine man", "Knocking on Heaven's Door",
"Like a Rolling Stone", we have Bob to thank for all these.
The sheer amout of cover version his songs have seen just goes to
show the versatility of his writing.
Im
sure you have heard at least one of these songs and you may not
have known who wrote it. Another example of how his influece has
crossed the lines between genres and generations. Dylan still writes
and performs as of today (2003), and his son, Jacob Dylan, has even
entered the music business as the lead singer of the Wallflowers.
It can't be denied that Dylan is one of music's greatest influences,
even if it wasn't direct.
