WING COMMANDER 1,2,3

1990, 1991, 1994 - Origin

This was another game that my dad brought home from work one day, Wing Commander 2. I had played flight sims like A-10 tank killer before so the concept wasn't new to me. But the coolest part about these games were rank, medals and the briefings that all changed depending on how well you handled the missions. I believe the game itself changed too depending on how well you did. There was even a bar where you could bullshit with the other pilots on your ship and check out how you rated compared to them. I found myself playing the missions one at a time, over and over again, until I was satisfied with my achievments. Needless to say, I was an awesome pilot by the end of the game with tons of medals and high rank. X-wing took this concept a bit further, but I still preferred Wing Commander.

There have been a whole slew of wing commander games since 1 and 2, but I have not played them all.
